Gneiss Sounds family…

We have some news we have been carrying for a while and there is still no easy way to say it.

Gneiss Sounds is moving on. Not because we stopped caring and not because it did not work, but because what we’ve built deserves more room to grow.

We have a lot of memories with Gneiss and we will carry them with us, always.

Thank you to everyone who bought a record, came to an event, shared a post, told a friend or simply spent time in the shop. You kept this place moving and you made it feel like something real.

And we are not leaving any of that behind.

We are taking the heart of Gneiss into what we are building toward, Rite Field Records. A very intentional Texas based record label for independent music and culture. You will still have a place to purchase music. The records you already love will still be there, alongside our catalog. And we are actively building a space where you can experience live music, come together as a community and more.

Come see us at 6733 Harrisburg soon before we’re out. Look through our bins, say hello and help us close this out with gratitude.

If you want to support what we are building next in the East End, we will gladly accept donations. Every contribution goes directly toward supporting independent artists and establishing the next space. Donation info is on our site.

We are very excited for y’all to see what we have coming. New space coming summer 2026. More details later. Follow to keep up with the move.

The shop is open today, but we’re encouraging safe driving and freeze prep with the weather in Houston going into next week. We’ll likely close early around 4 PM, so if you’re planning to swing by, come through a little earlier. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and update our hours next week.

reserved vinyl (very small quantity) has arrived in two color variants and CDs! A yellow vinyl variant be available only in Japan from the band. You can find vinyl and/or CDs at select tagged retailers! Custom buttons will be given to those who purchase online or in store. Also, We also made new totes for shop! Open today until 6 and tomorrow/Tuesday from 1-6pm!
