Houstonbookwarehouse Welcome to Houston Book Warehouse where stories live on. Discover hidden gems and timeless tales!

How far would you go to become the person you wish you were?

Join us for the next session of The Listening Room as we read The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, a classic story about ambition, appearances, and the price of wanting more.

What begins with a borrowed necklace turns into a choice that changes everything.

Most stories start with an ordinary day.

This one doesn’t stay ordinary for long. 👀

Join us for the next session of The Listening Room at Houston Book Warehouse as we read “Lamb to the Slaughter” by Roald Dahl.

What begins as a quiet evening quickly takes a dark and unexpected turn in one of the most entertaining short stories ever written. It’s suspenseful, clever, a little shocking, and guaranteed to give us something to talk about afterward.

We’re doing it again 👀

The Listening Room is back at Houston Book Warehouse, and this time we’re reading The Last Question by Isaac Asimov… which casually spans billions of years and asks a question no one can answer.

No big deal.

📖 We’ll read it out loud
💬 Then hang around and talk about it (if you want)

🕐 1:00–2:00 PM
📍 Houston Book Warehouse (1309 Polk St)

It’s free. No RSVP. No pressure to say anything profound.

Just show up, listen, and see where the conversation goes.

We’re launching something new at Houston Book Warehouse and we’re pretty excited about it. 📖

Join us for the very first Grown-Up Story Time, a free community event where adults gather to listen to a story read aloud and enjoy a relaxed discussion together.

For our debut session, volunteer reader Rebecca Haring will be reading Main Currents of American Thought by Irwin Shaw, a classic American short story that takes a thoughtful look inside the mind of an everyday man. The reading will last about 30 minutes, followed by an optional discussion for anyone who wants to stay and share.

No RSVP required. No pressure to speak. Just good stories, good conversation, and a chance to build a little community around books.
