Ready or not, autumn is on its way. Gardens are bursting, but cooler nights have us reaching for an extra quilt. We’re still cooling off at the lake, but there’s a little less daylight each day. The subtle shifts are happening all around us.

While we’re embracing the last weeks of summer, we’re also thinking ahead to fall…to new beginnings, to new routines, to new challenges, and, of course, to new quilt projects.

Enter Windfall by Stephanie Sliwinski of Fancy That Design House for Moda. Prints include autumn leaves, sunflowers, pumpkin patches, vintage bouquets, fall motifs, playful florals, and textured blenders in autumn hues of dark moss, soft thistle, merlot, oatmeal, eggshell, caramel, rust, coffee, aqua, and meadow.

We love when our customers share their creations with us! Check out this Michigan Tech Husky quilt by Carrie Whitaker Rich!

Carrie’s inspiration for the Husky quilt was a combination of the Snowflake pattern by Modern Handcraft and a stylized geometric rendering of a husky. This custom quilt was a high school graduation gift for a soon-to-be Michigan Tech Husky. Quilted by Mari Koponen with Limestone Quilting.

We can’t wait to welcome the new and returning Michigan Tech students to town in a few short weeks!

We love our little college town! Houghton is home to Michigan Technological University, the home of the Huskies. And PQH is the official home of Michigan Tech fabric!

In 2015, PQH-owner Joanne worked with Michigan Tech to design brand new Michigan Tech fabrics to carry in our shop. Our licensed Michigan Tech fabric is a PQH specialty. We have three quilting cottons—available in black, gray, and gold—as well as one black fleece. We have a variety of quilt kits, pillowcase kits, several coordinating fabrics, and lots of samples to inspire your creativity.
