Time is a funny thing. Just when you think you know when a holiday is happening, it slips in a weekend ahead of schedule. It's a little like grief, sneaking up on you when you least expect it. Memorial Day is a sacred US holiday, honoring fallen service members who died in the line of duty, defending the principles upon which this baby country was founded 250 years ago. Too bad our House of Representatives has forgotten this. Might be time to give your Senators a call, because a pretty nasty bill got through the house.
