We are so very excited to be partnering with the Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation during the Hopkinsville Downtown Entertainment District Block Party on Saturday, August 22nd to honor Brandon Oldham, member of the Local Development Corporation. Brandon was instrumental in bringing "Bike Nights" to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Downtown Farmers Market, so we are recognizing and honoring his legacy. A special presentation will be made to the Oldham family at 6:00 PM at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Downtown Farmers Market. We hope you can join us. Please share with others. Live music will follow and run until 8 PM.

We're excited to showcase a couple of buildings in the Hopkinsville Downtown Renaissance District getting spruced up, along with the fabulous businesses that occupy those amazing spaces. The Detour on Main - opening this fall - is looking snazzy & classy! Baked Hopkinsville, always serving up delectable treats, is looking sleek & sophisticated! More to come, peeps. A community workshop was conducted on July 30th to seek input regarding the proposed West 7th Street Redevelopment Project. What a fabulous opportunity for kids this summer. Thank you Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County & thank you Mayor Knight.

As part of our free admission program for children and students this summer (thanks to a generous partnership with Mayor J.R. Knight and the City of Hopkinsville), we also have some special free programs planned with some of the museum's friends:

On Thursday, July 23 at 10:30am, Hopkinsville Fire/EMS will be at the Pennyroyal Area Museum to share all about their work as firefighters. Join us to get a close-up experience with one of their firetrucks and a lesson in fire safety.
