Friends,
This is not the easiest thing, for someone like myself to admit. I need help.
My name is David Fuesting. I’m a father, a combat veteran and recently a small business owner.
Six months ago, I decided to step away from a 20-year military career and a job overseas to create a business of my own. It has long been my dream.
I created BIG PAWS COFFEE COMPANY to answer that need.
Big Paws is a small coffee roasting company that is deeply rooted in charity. Our tag line says it all-Choose your coffee, choose your charity, choose to help. We support charities by donating $2 for every 12oz bag and $10 for every 5lb bag we sell. Currently we support 8 different charities ranging from Service dogs of America to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation. We support several first responders and veteran charities also.
I worked hard to get everything up and running. I relied on my life saving to get this going. I finally opened the doors and a couple weeks later COVID-19 hit.
Liz and I both became ill. I immediately closed the business. She recovered in a week while my symptoms lingered on for over a month. I am thankfully better now.
I have come to the conclusion that I cannot weather this storm without some sort of financial assistance. I applied for COVID financial assistance through the SBA but have since been turned down.
It’s easy to see the irony in all of this. A company designed to help others in need, now needs the help of others. I have my heart invested in this, my life saving invested in this and I’m willing to ask for help.
Any donations I receive will go to paying the rent, equipment leases, resupply of coffee beans and marketing.
I will be thankful for anything you can give. Any donation amounts. If all you can give is a kind word, I will take it. If all you can do to help is to pass this story along then I will be thankful.
Thank you
David Fuesting
