Please share and write in if you cant make it. This ban will take away all semi as we know it.

A hearing for SB3196 has been scheduled for February 23rd at 9 am. If passed, this bill will destroy not only the right to bear arms but many businesses and related industries as well. Everyone's help is needed to save our industry and protect the Second Amendment that fuels much of it.

We need people to submit testimony on the bill before the hearing. Even if you submitted on the last hearing, it needs to be done again.

This can be done by going to the capital website, making an account, and submitting testimony. Here's a link to the bill https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session/measure_indiv.aspx?billtype=SB&billnumber=3196&year=2024

People should also call their state senators and committee members.

Here's a list of legislators on the committee:

Here are some key factors regarding this bill:

Bans ALL semiautomatics rifles with any assault weapon features.

The inclusion of "A shroud that is attached to or partially or completely encircles the barrel and permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the second hand without being burned" means this applies to all rifles as a foregrip or handguard meets this definition. Anything that means you're not holding the barrel is a barrel shroud.

Bans all AR, AK, SKS, and Tavor patented rifles. Regardless of features.

This means that even if the rifle is featureless, it is still prohibited.

Bans all Semi-Automatic rifles less than 30 inches (bullpups)

Bans all semi-automatic rifles with a fixed magazine over 10 rounds.

Bans historic rifles such as the M14, M1, M1 carbine, SKS and more.

Bans pistols have a single assault pistol feature. Any of the following makes your gun a felony to posse.

An ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip;

A threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward hand grip, or silencer;

A shroud that is attached to or partially or completely encircles the barrel and permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the second hand without being burned;

A manufactured weight of fifty ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded;

A centerfire pistol with an overall length of twelve inches or more;

Is a semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm;

Bans all pistols with a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds.

Bans all semi-automatic shotguns with a detachable or rotating magazine or other assault shotgun features.
Bans all shotguns capable of accepting more than 5 rounds.

Bans ALL accessories that could be used to make any firearm an assault weapon (pistol, rifle or shotgun).

Bans ALL .50 cal rifles.

Bans the possession of all the above assault weapons from public hunting areas.

While those people who have these fi****ms will be allowed to keep them, they will be prohibited from taking them anywhere other than private property, licensed shooting ranges (whatever those are), and gun stores/gunsmiths.

In addition to banning the above-mentioned firearm, they also ban All magazines with more than ten rounds (pistol, rifle or shotgun (effective July 1st) It also bans any accessories that could be used to make a firearm an assault weapon, So, no repairing a broken firearm, just throw it away.

Here are some tips for good testimony.
Introduction: Begin with a brief introduction of yourself, including your name, affiliation (if applicable), and the reason for your testimony. This helps establish your credibility and the context of your statement.

Statement of Position: Clearly state your position on the issue at hand right at the beginning. Whether you support or oppose the proposed action, it should be unmistakably clear.

Background Information: Provide some background on the issue, especially if it's complex or not widely understood. This helps to educate the and set the stage for your arguments.

Specific Arguments and Evidence: This is the core of your testimony. Present specific arguments to support your position, backed by evidence, data, examples, or personal experiences. It's important to be factual, logical, and as objective as possible.

Personal Story or Connection: If applicable, share a personal story or connection to the issue. Personal stories can be powerful in making abstract issues more relatable and compelling to your audience.

Conclusion: Summarize your main points and restate your position. End with a strong closing statement that leaves a lasting impression on your audience.

Respect and Professionalism: Throughout your testimony, maintain a tone of respect and professionalism, even if you strongly disagree with opposing views. This increases the likelihood that your testimony will be received positively and considered seriously.

By incorporating these elements, your testimony will be more likely to engage your audience, communicate your message effectively, and influence the decision-making process.

Once again, I implore you to help get the word out, make calls to legislators, and submit testimony yourself. This is probably the most important bill we have seen in a year, and we need to do everything we can to stop it.
