The Honokaa Business Association is excited to invest in our local students by helping to fund educational opportunities for graduates wanting to continue their education after high school. Scholarships awards can be used for a wide range of post secondary educational opportunities such as training, certification programs and apprenticeships along with two and four year college degrees.
Each award will be worth at least $1000 and available to seniors who graduated in 2023 or will graduate this year, and are enrolled at Honoka’a High School, Laupā hoehoe Community Public Charter School (LCPCS) or are home-schooled students who live in the Honoka’a High School and Laupāhoehoe districts.
The total dollar amount that will be available depends on fundraising efforts now underway. Last year the Honokaʻa Business Association awarded $11,000 to seven deserving students, thanks to HBA funding, along with contributions from organizations including Queenʻs Health, Renewable Energy Solutions (RES), Pa’ina by Ocean, and Café Il Mondo and a number of generous individuals. These students are pursuing further educational opportunities in a variety of fields including health care, culinary studies, media and film making, electrical engineering, automotive technology, gender studies and psychology and construction technology.
If you would like to contribute scholarship funding please Venmo , or write a check payable to “Honokaʻa Business Association” and send it to P.O. Box 474, Honokaʻa HI 96727. For more information email Sarah Anderson at [email protected] or call 808 987-9076.
