Take a look at these juvenile billfish! These pictures have been sent over to us by Miguel Montalvo at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science . On the top is a marlin larvae, and underneath it is a swordfish!

Miguel's work is based around his interests in evolution and development of billfishes. Part of his research has taken him to the MidAtlantic Tournament where he works on the science team, dissecting and studying the fish that are brought in to be weighed. Over the past few years, this has allowed him to become a good friend of TBF!
