Meggie Apothecary Garden-inspired bath and skin care products--Clean, simple and unfussy. Welcome to Meggie Apothecary. Early attempts were.....mixed.

Our story: It all began with a bath bomb my daughter received as a gift. I was intrigued, and investigated how to make them at home ourselves. One thing led to another, and soon I found myself trying my hand at lip balm and hand lotion, liquid soap and deodorant. Many thanks to the early "test pilots." Soon, I was able to make adjustments and find what worked. I am drawn to fresh, clean scents li

ke herb and citrus. I love entering an herb garden and sweeping my hand across the different plants to take in their aroma. I have a lavender garden (or at least try very hard to) in my front yard My grandparents had an orange tree in their backyard in southwest Florida and each Christmas we'd have fresh squeezed orange juice and get fresh local citrus from neighbors. These are the smells that give me peace, calm and joy, and I hope they bring you the same. We're still tweaking things to get even better--not fancy, just good is at the center of what we do.

Hi all!! Sorry I've continued to be so quiet for so long! We aren't planning on doing the Farmers Market this summer, but things could change later on....

I'm continuing to focus on other key things, and while that effort has been bearing wonderful fruit ðŸĨ°ðŸĨ° , it's meant not much bandwidth left for several things-- including Meggie Apothecary.

So what have I been doing? Condering a name change for Meggie Apothecary...reconsidering production volume (sitting on a bunch of old stock that's now all grainy ðŸĪŠ)...much to think about.

And while I hope to be back and roaring at some point....keep your ears and eyes open....be sure to support and give love to your local makers!!

Seasons Greetings!

So, due to twists and turns and....life, we'll be taking a break starting tomorrow (12/22/21) thorugh 12/30/21 and unfortunately will not be available for last-minute gifts & goodies for the Holidays (sorry!)

It's quiet season....that gap between Farmer's Market time and the Holidays, and I've needed to increase my effort on my "day job" (I'm part time but needed to increase hours)....but Velcro Elbows/Croc Skin Legs/dry cracked lip season is just around the corner!

I need to shed some older stock before I start making "new" so keep a look out for a *yoo hooo big summer blowout* on lotions & lip balms.

Until then, it's never too early to reach out about holiday gifting orders! Getting your orders in now helps me plan out how much to make and when so you can have nice and fresh goodies for your friends, families, neighbors, teachers, postal workers....Anyone! Who doesn't love good, soothing, super-handmade stuff for bath & skin?

The bath bomb mix was fighting me today, so practicing just letting things be and going with the flow....plus I somehow had it in my mind that I was going NEXT Sunday along w back to school hustle and bustle so I was hurried.

**IMPORTANT**
If you purchased a lotion from me in a GLASS jar in June, DO NOT USE AND please contact me--especially the Staycation. Some of the jars may have chipped and as a result, may contain shards...I just got a nasty surprise in one of my own. Not sure if it occurred during transit on my trip or otherwise.
Please reach out for a refund/replacement--your preference.

Edit: our guest artist had a great debut--Thanks to everyone who stopped by today and said hi and perhaps even scooped up some crane luck and Meggie Apothecary goodness!!
We'll be back at the Farmer's Market August 8th but if you can't wait until then, reach out & order (but our eldest is returning from camp, we will be doing some traveling to see friends we dearly miss--"nerds on vacation 2021"!!-- and also hosting my Mom & Dad who we haven't hugged since Nov. 2019(!!) so availability may be limited) !
I will try to whip up some more Staycation lotion and bath bombs and Bug Off balm because they went faaaaast.

Greetings!
We're excited, gearing up for our 2nd Holliston Farmer's Market tomorrow!

We're also thrilled to be hosting a young entrepreneur friend of the family--the maker-in-chief and founder at "Paper Cranes" --who will be selling her handmade paper cranes at the Meggie Apothecary table. Be sure to swing by and check out her creations!

As I build up stock, I realized that I'd be limited in what I could do because I....well.....forgot to check that I had enough key ingredients to do what I planned. Oh well--it wouldn't be genuinely "me" if something like this DIDN'T happen once in a while. So, we have a batch of Lime Peppermint lip balm that has avocado oil instead of the usual vitamin e.

We will have our popular "Bug Off" bug balm on hand, along with our usual stock of lavender, rosemary peppermint, lime peppermint, tangerine peppermint, no scent added, etc. hand balms, Down from Texas w/ bubbles, Lavender w/ bubbles (regular and mini), Eucalyptus Peppermint w/bubbles, Lavender w/o bubbles bath bombs along with a new item: "Staycation" balm and bath bomb w/bubbles. Staycation is citrus themed and the bath bombs have extra blue coloring to help make the water a tropical paradise.

Not too much for the "Island of Misfit Toys" this week, but there will be a few odds and ends.
