Sign up today for a fun filled week of out-of-this-world art projects for kids. We are going to have a great time using all sorts of crazy items to create art including pool noodles and jelly beans. I am happy to introduce my new art for Pride month. We have more dog walkers downtown than ever before and I always think to myself; if only we all loved each other and accepted each other unconditionally like we love and accept everyone's dogs, what a better, beautiful and kind world this would be!
We have cards and prints available in the shop. Also look for my tent at Pride Fest on Saturday, June 27th. I'll be the one offering coloring for everyone to enjoy. Come and find me. Happy Pride month everyone!! 🌈

As you can see, I was fully engaged in today's Holland Area Arts Council first Fiber Fest and it was a blast. We had lots of fun adding paint to our t shirts and pillow cases. Thanks to Gemma, Michelle and Brenda and all who helped put on such a great day today and thanks also for inviting me to be a part of it all.

Congratulations to all 5th graders moving forward into middle school. How exciting! I had the great pleasure to host the Waukazoo Elementary fifth graders during their discovery days. Discovery Days gives the kids an opportunity to learn more about their downtown Holland businesses and to discover what downtown has to offer to them and their families. They all came to Carolyn Stich Studio to draw and color Big Red lighthouse and everyone did a fabulous job. We are moving to our new studio place July 1st so please stay tuned for fun filled art classing and opportunities for all ages.

Hey everyone. I have an opportunity to go home to St. Louis next weekend and help with a family project, which is so exciting for me. But this does mean I have to cancel our watermelon event. You all are still one in a melon in my eyes so we will reschedule soon. Our next Paint and Sip will be in our new location. Woot woot!! Stay tuned for the new dates. Thank you for understanding.

Honestly, who knew macrame could be so mind blowing. Haha, I think it's mind blowing only to one particular artist whose name starts with S and ends with tich. Oh my goodness. I wish to thank all of our wonderful students and everyone at the Holland Area Arts Council for stepping in and helping this befuddled artist through one of her toughest classes ever, macrameing a simple key chain. I look forward to redeeming myself next month with a drawing and painting project for our 50+ class on July 7th.

Because of all the Tulip Time wonderfulness, we didn't have a painting event in May and I really miss you all. That being said, I am so excited to have a Paint and Sip event in the calendar for Saturday, June 13th and 7 pm. By June we hope to be in full Summer mode so the most summery thing I think to paint is a watermelon. It's time to come together and paint Summer themed art, and nothing says Summer more than watermelon. Come and join the fun at the Holland Area Arts Council this Saturday, June 6th. I will be participating all day in this fabulous Fiberfest. You will find me helping everyone slatter paint all over tshirts to make wearable masterpieces. Join us at the Arts Council from 10 to 2 pm.

On this Memorial Day, I am sitting and drawing in the passenger seat of my Subaru while my husband is behind the wheel driving us home from visiting our grandson in Nashville. Memorial Day means more to me each year as the fragility of our democracy becomes more evident day after day. I am very lucky to never have lost a loved one in the line of duty, knowing so many of you have experienced that unimaginable loss. But yet, I get the privilege of living with the freedoms they fought for over the years. These words have taken residency in my mind ever since I read them recently;
If you want to thank a soldier, be the kind of American worth fighting for.
