I was asked at the Rhode Island show by a few folks if I’m still doing as much myself, by hand, at the bench as I did when I started the shop five years ago. The answer is ‘yes, no changes’. All the rigs, assist hooks and dressed hooks are all done by me. I rig up all the plugs and jigs and do all the final assembly. I’m sketching and tinkering. The architect in me isn’t going to let these things go. I’m the last person to see your stuff whether I send it to you direct or whether you get it from some of the great shops I’m privileged to partner with. Five years and counting.

The ‘HardShell’ Peanuts have inspired a small versatile popper to draw strikes on top. Coming early 2026. These poppers are 3” long and weight a 1/2 ounce. They will likely come rigged with a belly hook and a flag on the tail.

Folks using the 5” and 3” tails suggested the 4” and here they are. Just been a bit too busy to get these on the site but I will soon and these will be available for the fall run. These 4” tails will have their own fitted jigheads at 1/2 ounce and 3/4 ounce with the spiral detail. Will come in the 3” colors plus this ‘Arnold Palmer-Esque’ color.

Fluke fishing was solid out at Nantucket Shoals today. Thanks to for showing Mark and I the ropes out there on the Gaviota. The spoon and teaser rig in the image is a prototype variant to the 5” spoon I usually use. Experimenting with some different things.
