This is the Roland GAIA SH-01.

Honestly, Roland may have accidentally made one of the most fun synths ever.

It’s not vintage.

It’s not expensive.

It DOESN’T have a giant screen.

It just has a ton of k***s and sounds WAY bigger than expected.

This is a great synth to learn how to make sounds using subtractive synthesis.

Throw in some batteries and grab a guitar strap and get mobile, keytar style.

Not all semi-hollows are made for jazz.

• used Roland SDE-3000 Digital Delays as a key part of his wet/dry/wet guitar rig beginning in the mid-1980s.

• often ran TWO SDE-3000 rack units, one feeding each of his left and right “wet” cabinets while his center cabinet stayed dry. This gave his guitar a wide, 3D sound without washing out his core tone.

• You can hear this delay sound on 5150, OU812, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, and Balance, with songs including Dreams, Best of Both Worlds, Love Walks In, Poundcake, Right Now, and Judgement Day.

• The SDE-3000 became famous for its warm, musical digital repeats that stayed clear without overpowering the original guitar signal.

• Original Roland SDE-3000 rack units have become highly sought after and difficult to find. They’re also becoming more and more expensive.

• Boss recently released the SDE-3000 delay pedal, giving you the sound of the vintage rack delay in a stomp box!
