Hi Everyone!

Here is my shameless plug for any of you making charitable contributions this year. I'm in the final push of my American Red Cross Donation Drive. The deadline to donate is this Sunday, April 27th. I'm currently in 5th place, and just shy of winning a scholarship.

The American Red Cross High School Heroes Drive is a philanthropic leadership program. All donations benefit the Red Cross in the following way:

$25 provides 5 blankets to clients
$50 provides infant needs and formula for local
families affected by disasters
$100 provides 5 phone cards for soldiers
$200 provides food and shelter to a family of 4 for 1 day in a shelter
$425 covers the cost to send an emergency response vehicle (ERV) to a disaster operation
$1,000 provides 20 care kits for wounded soldiers $2,000 provides 1 hot meal to 200 disaster clients.

No donation is too small or too big. If any of you are interested in your child trying this scholarship next year, just let me know.

Well it's official I passed my Eagle Board of Review. Thank you to everyone for your help and support along the way, I couldn't of done it without you. Also, a special thanks to two incredible Troop Leaders Mr. Gillham and Mr. Wooton, who have both help to make Troop 821 so great!

The final book total is in....drum roll...we collected 6,430 books! My original goal was to collect 1,500!

A HUGE Thank you to Mr. Dale Ryba who has made a BIG and generous donation to my Eagle Project. Mr. Ryba is shipping all the donated books to Atlanta for us free of charge!

We crushed the original goal of collecting 1,500 books. Instead we have collected over 5,000! We still have some more to count. I will post the final total on Monday night. Once again thank you for everyone who took an interest in my project! I couldn't of done it without your support.

Wednesday will be the last day to donate books. We will be driving all the books to Atlanta this weekend to World Wide Books.

I'm out of town hiking with my scout troop in New Mexico until 8/9. I have a donation box for books set up at Postal Connections in Hillsborough until 8/16. Thank you everyone for your support!

Thank you to everyone who came out and donated or volunteered today! I have a box at Postal Connections in Hillsborough now through Aug.10th. They are open M-F 8:30-6 & Sat. 8:30-12:30.
