Amazonite is an alkali feldspar mineral that is believed to have been used for thousands of years although it was first reported only in 1847--and yes, it's named for the Amazon River in Brazil that has an abundance of this crystal. Considered a heart and throat chakra stone, Amazonite is said to reduce stress, encourage communication, resolve conflict, and encourage group harmony. Pictured here are rough Amazonites and Amazonite hearts, both small enough to carry.

There is some gorgeous Labradorescence (sheen) in this large Labradorite sphere that part of the Rock Shop's Stone of the Month sale for August 2026. Labradorite is an igneous stone with correspondences to all the chakras, especially the crown chakras. It's said to enhance the mental faculties, to channel creativity into concrete paths, and to overcome depression. All Labradorite, including jewelry, is discounted 20% throughout August.

Bumblebee jasper (also called eclipse jasper) is a fun stone that always reminds me of Halloween because of its colors. It's not a true jasper (silicon dioxide), but rather silicon dioxide with realgar, orpiment, and pyrite. Bumblebee jasper is an igneous stone that's associated with the root, sacral, and solar plexus chakras. It's said to stimulate the mind by bringing fresh perspectives, to nourish the inner child, and to spark creativity and transformation. These stones are small enough to carry.
