Summer in Florida is no joke, for us or the bees. 🐝

Florida beekeeping is year round work, but summer is when you really have to pay attention. Less honey production, more hive management. We use this time to clean equipment, assess our colonies, and set everything up for a strong fall season.

There’s something satisfying about starting fresh. 🐝

Between seasons we pull the plastic foundation, pressure wash frame by frame, and get everything ready for the next round. No shortcuts. Every piece of equipment gets the same attention because the bees deserve a clean home to work in.

This is what the behind the scenes looks like. It’s not always glamorous but it’s always worth it.

Thousands of bees all on one mission. 🐝

When temps rise, the colony moves to the outside of the hive to fan and cool things down. It’s called bearding, and it’s one of the most impressive things you’ll witness in beekeeping. No chaos, just order. Every bee with a purpose.
