If you’ve had flowers on the brain, don’t wait! Tomorrow is the last scheduled Saturday for us and the last day for the Hicksville Farmer’s Market season! You can grab one of our last rounds of bloomin’ pumpkins or a bouquet in two places tomorrow- Hicksville Farmer’s Market from 9-1 with my sweet sister and in laws or from Andy and I at Barnfest in Bryan!

I had a few special occasion orders, including this beauty below, this week which means specialty garden roses and beautiful greenery for all of you this week! 😍 While we were at it, we figured why not make it even more special by arranging those pretty things in pretty pumpkins! We will have a limited number of bloomin’ pumpkins and bouquets at the Hicksville Farmer’s Market tomorrow! Get ‘em while they last!

We were absolutely blown away after week one at the market this past weekend. We appreciate you all more than you know and it was SO good to see some familiar faces! We sold out in less than 2 hours! This week’s market bouquets are all about the colors and textures! We will be at the Hicksville Farmer’s Market from 9am-1pm/sold out. 🌻

Flowers will always be more than just flowers 🌻

“Last night I bought a sunflower to put on the windshield of someone I’m smitten with.

After some consideration, I decided not to since we had only been on one date, the night previous. Don’t want to come off too strong, right?

Anyway, I grabbed the flower on my way out this morning with the intention to give it to someone on my way to work so it didn’t die alone.

What happened next has left me changed in ways I don’t even have words for yet.

While I was sitting and drinking my morning joe at the coffee shop (which I typically take to go), I saw a woman reading something with tears quietly and quickly sliding down her pale face.

It was like there was a magnet in the sunflower that was being drawn to her, because I knew in that moment she was who I was going to give the sunflower to; she was who I had to give it to.

When I got to her table I said, ‘Hey, pardon me. I have this sunflower that I was hoping to give to someone special and that someone I had in mind didn’t work out, but I can feel that you’re special too, so I want you to have it.’

Before I could even hand her the sunflower, this complete stranger flew into my arms with tears flowing, and gratitude spewing, as if I was someone she once loved, and lost.

It’s what she said next that I’m still trying to grip.

She was crying because her fiancé had died the week before, just months before they were going to get married.

On their first date, he brought her a sunflower and from then on, got her sunflowers, never roses, because she was the light of his life.

Today, through me, he was able to show her that she’ll always be the light of his life and how we as humans have a message to carry that goes far beyond words.

I’m shaken, awakened, and feeling raw.

You never know how much a simple gesture of giving someone a $5 flower will change their life, as well as yours. Life is about giving and being of service to others.

I challenge you all to find a way to make someone else’s life just a little bit brighter today and be of service. You never know the impact you could have.”

Season #3 and so many exciting changes!

This season has weighed heavily on our hearts and minds for so many reasons. Our little world and world as we know it is changing in so many ways, so much from last season to this season even. Life is incredibly busy and let’s be honest, flat out expensive right now. We absolutely know and recognize how hard our household works and how hard all of you work to be all of the things, do all of the things, and be able to take care of the necessities, let alone the extras. So, we paused quietly and waited for the right answer… and along comes this quote and we immediately went to work.

Over the last two years, the farm became a place of refuge-grieving through personal loss, a light during the uncertainty of 2020, and a place to unplug from the noise and find a calm and connection to the things that truly matter, so we decided to switch up almost everything this season.

We went from not being sure if we would plant a single seed to opening up more rows than we’ve ever had, planting more seeds than we will probably be able to cut and planting later than we would have ever dreamed in hopes that opening up our little farm to you and your family will provide that same type of off the grid refuge- seriously, your teenagers phone will barely work out here 😉. We can’t solve all of the problems, but flowers feels like the perfect way to try.

So.. to get to the point.. It’s finally happening! Stay tuned for August/September YOU PICK dates and details, as well as our other upcoming events and Hicksville Farmer’s Market days.

We love and appreciate you coming along for the ride and can’t wait to see you this fall!

Spring has finally arrived and we are so excited to have our page back up and running! Our peony style double tulips are opening and they are absolutely gorgeous! We have 15 arrangements featuring our tulips that are ready to go for you last minute Mother’s Day shoppers or for those of you ready for some color on your tables. $30 and we can deliver to you and your loved ones. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see”

It’s safe to say we have done our fair share of pumpkin carving this year and will be putting down our carving tools until next year and turning on our favorite movies to celebrate instead😅 Pumpkins as vases don’t always go as well as planned, taught us some interesting lessons and pushed us beyond our limits in so many ways! Thank you for supporting us as we experimented with these beauties!

My sweet friend got married and entrusted me with the honor of creating something beautiful, simple and sweet for her pew decorations turned giant pumpkin reception decor this past weekend. The feeling and emotion of stepping outside your comfort zone while decorating in the quiet of a small, rustic church that is almost 140 years old is something I’ll never forget.
