🍎❤️ Closing One Chapter, Opening Another ❤️🛍️

Closing down a classroom is never easy.

This year feels especially different because I’m closing it for the very last time.

For many years, I have had the privilege of teaching, loving, and learning alongside some incredible children and families. The classroom has been a huge part of my life, and walking out of it brings a mix of emotions. There is sadness in saying goodbye to a chapter that has meant so much.

But there is also excitement.

Over the last year, I’ve been building a dream called Roselyn’s on First, named after my granddaughter. What started as a small boutique has grown into something I truly love, and I have decided to take a leap of faith and devote myself to it full-time.

As I packed up my classroom this week, I couldn’t help but reflect on all the memories, friendships, laughter, and lessons that filled these walls. I will always cherish them.

Thank you to every student, parent, coworker, and friend who has been part of this journey.

Here’s to new beginnings, following your heart, and trusting God’s plan for the next chapter.

✨ Learning, Growing & Bringing New Ideas to Roselyn’s on First ✨

I’m spending the next few days soaking up knowledge from The Boutique Hub Summer School and looking for ways to make Roselyn’s on First even better for our amazing customers!

One of today’s challenges is to share an action we’re taking in our business. My action today is focusing on creating a stronger customer experience, both in-store and online, while continuing to bring in styles you’ll love to wear again and again. 💙

Owning a small business means never stopping the learning process, and I’m excited about what the future holds for our little boutique in Downtown Hickory.

This memory just popped up from 8 years ago! Can’t believe I’ve had a brick and mortar almost 8 years now 🫶🏼🫶🏼 We’re planning a fun 8 year celebration for our anniversary in July!

2018 Facebook memory: Four years ago, I made my first batch of soap. I used a plastic silverware drawer as a mold and was slightly petrified that I would kill myself with lye. The years that have followed have been an amazing journey. I've burned myself with raw soap, I've made countless batches of bath bombs that cracked and fell apart before I finally got the recipe and technique correct, I've spilled soap all over my kitchen, I've thrown batches out, and I've made numerous everloving messes. I've gone from making a few soaps and putting them unlabeled into a Tupperware box to sell, to selling a wide variety in the back of my soap mobile and at festivals. I've stayed up till 4 am to finish Christmas orders and got back up at 7 to get my daughter to school. I've met so many new people and enjoyed so many smiles. You all have been such an integral part of my journey. You encouraged me, given me constructive feedback, and asked for more. The majority of my success has come from word of mouth! .....from my people sharing me with others. I've been at so many festivals where yall have sold my soap to other customers harder than I did....and man, that makes my heart right at burst. Sooo... I gotta share with you!!! I have signed the lease to have a for real, actual Southern Girl Soaps store!!!!!!!! omgah!!!!! So many times in the last four years I have wished so hard and prayed that someday my dream would become an actuality. So many times I've had the conversation with so many of you... but, probably none more than Kristine. So, this week, she saw an opportunity and called about it for me. (My forever thanks to you, Kristine King Ford 💕) I decided that it's now or never! I'm so excited to get the painting and shelving finished and get moved in!!! I'll keep you updated on the progress and hope I see you opening day!!!!!! I'm in downtown Hickory in the old Harris Arcade Bldg across from Carolina Theater!
