Aanii,
Allow me to reintroduce myself.
My name is Kimberly Lee, and for the last four years, I have had the honor of serving as a Board Member representing Unit 2 for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
I am the proud daughter of the late David “Goose” Windsor and Sandra Long Lee, granddaughter of the late Forrest and Barbara Lee Currie, and Ernest and Verna Windsor Kerr. I am the proud mother of three sons and a Nokomis to two grandsons. Who continue to inspire me.
Professionally, I graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in 2011 with my Managing Cosmetology License. My background includes experience in business operations, administration, budgeting, customer service, and co-owning and operating a salon business.
Growing up in Hessel, I was raised with the values of community, respect for our elders, support for our youth, and pride in our culture and traditions. Those teachings continue to guide me both personally and as a leader.
Over the past four years as a Board Member, I have worked to represent the membership's voices while focusing on listening, growth, accountability, clarity, and opportunities for future generations. I believe leadership should always remain connected to the people it serves.
As I continue this journey, my commitment remains. To put the membership first, work hard for our communities, and help create a stronger future for all Tribal members.
Only united can we continue working toward a stronger future for our elders, our youth, our families, and the next seven generations.
Chi Miigwech for the continued opportunity to serve you!
