We are a small local family owned business for over 22 years. Planters Ridge is a full service Florist, Garden Center, Gift Shop and Market located right off of Highway 17 on Harvey Point Road in Hertford, NC. Our talented and experienced floral designers will create a unique arrangement for you, whether your requirements are economical, or Hi-Style. Check out some of our pictures to view our qual

ity work! While we concentrate on great flowers with each order, we also like to be known for offering a good value for your money. We always guarantee satisfaction with every delivery we make. The floral designers at Planters Ridge look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve that special feeling that only flowers can convey whatever the occasion! Planters Ridge is also a Garden Center. We sell Woodwick Candles, flags, grass seeds, mulch, topsoil, sand, rock, statuary, fertilizers and MUCH, MUCH MORE!!!! We are famous for our seasonal outdoor and indoor bows too. In late 2020, Planters Ridge expanded and opened a Market. The Market offers Boars Head Meats and Cheeses sliced and sold by the pound or you can try one of our delicious specialty sandwiches, soups and salads. The Market also offers hand scooped Hershey ice cream cones or milkshakes and many more scrumptious food selections such as pimento cheese, chicken salad, and more! The owners are Lyl and Natalie Brown. After graduating with an Industrial Engineering degree, Lyl choose to put his skills to work in designing and creating residential and commercial landscapes. He has been working with 'dirt' since around the age of 7 with his father. He has offered landscaping services consisting of design and installation of plant material, irrigation systems, drainage solutions, pavers, sod and much more for the past 25+ years. You can also call or visit Planters Ridge to schedule or discuss your landscaping needs, no matter how big or small. Natalie graduated with a Computer Science degree and worked with Dell, INC. at the USCG. Although Natalie worked with computers for nearly 20 years, she also worked behind the scenes at Planters Ridge during that time. She loves to get her hands in the fresh flowers and dirt when special occasions such as weddings, funerals, holidays or peek seasons arise. While visiting Planters Ridge you may also get a peek of Lyl and Natalie's three boys! Landon, Colby and Benjamin love to 'hang' at Planters Ridge and get in the mix of it all! Position Details:
30–40 hours per week with flexibility
Primarily Monday–Friday
One Saturday (8-4) and one Sunday (10-2) per month

Absolute Must-Haves:

FRIENDLY personality
Good communication skills
Phone etiquette
General computer skills (including Word and Excel)
Ability to work outside in all conditions at certain times (assist, fill-in, etc.)
Ability to multitask
High level of creativity, adaptability, and initiative

Willing to Learn:

Operate a forklift
Operate a pallet jack
Operate a loader

Job Responsibilities:

Develop sales/promotions and social media content
Customer service
Assist with merchandising support
Inventory control assistance
Quality control assistance
Maintain and order office and general supplies
Strengthen and grow the business
Maintain adequate cash/change for operations
Oversee overall cleanliness of the building
Occasional personal assistance duties for the owners (run errands, banking, rental management, mail)

What’s Happening at Planters Ridge, Inc? ⁉️⁉️⁉️

Back at the end of 2025 when we announced that we had sold the Farm Market, we promised that we would put our extra time and energy into making the garden center and florist even better!

WELL, after some planning, those projects have begun.

First, we are making some changes to our parking lot. We are increasing the depth to make it easier to maneuver in and out. We are also adding more parking spaces across the front of our grounds. Probably another 15 or more spaces! 🙌🚗

Second, we are expanding down the entire left side of the store. This will create a larger walk-in cooler for our flowers, storage and new office spaces. In doing this, the offices and some storage will be removed from the back warehouse. The end result: more room for new merchandise! 🛍️🛒

Stay tune for more updates. There’s a 2nd phase being added maybe late summer that will really offer convenience to our shoppers!

Just as dead heading promotes growth and removes the spent blooms, I feel like it gives me a reset to go about the rest of my day and to just take a moment.
