Up for sale, we are offering a wonderful Standard Disc Talking Machine from 1909.
“The Standard Disc Model A is a compact-sized instrument, of nicely composed proportions, that will fit in any room, and produce bright and enchanting music! And let's not forget about the reasonable price!
One of the Midwestern brands of disc talking machine at the turn of the 20th century was "Standard Disc" of Chicago. Standard instruments were in fact designed and built by the Columbia Phonograph Co., who were justly famous in their own right as high quality manufacturers. We believe the "Model A" taking machine is about the most pleasing, plump, peppy and perfectly balanced instrument you can find! The original flower horn has been carefully repainted in a special process that creates a tranlucent finish identical to the original factory lacquer. Plus, cheerful cabbage roses have been hand-painted by our artist, in the manner of times past, capturing the precise look of the early twentieth century.. The outstanding condition of all the components makes this delightful instrument enormously appealing. Original factory cabinet finish and decal.
Our immaculate antique talking machine will bring a smile to the face of anyone. The horn is especially charming, the perfect size to compliment the cabinet. This instrument will play one 10" diameter 78 rpm record per winding, the motor is strong and reliable. Do not mistake our carefully adjusted, painstakingly restored instruments for the wrecks you find on eBay -- our machines work properly and sound great!”
