Up for sale, we are offering a wonderful Standard Disc Talking Machine from 1909.

“The Standard Disc Model A is a compact-sized instrument, of nicely composed proportions, that will fit in any room, and produce bright and enchanting music! And let's not forget about the reasonable price!

One of the Midwestern brands of disc talking machine at the turn of the 20th century was "Standard Disc" of Chicago. Standard instruments were in fact designed and built by the Columbia Phonograph Co., who were justly famous in their own right as high quality manufacturers. We believe the "Model A" taking machine is about the most pleasing, plump, peppy and perfectly balanced instrument you can find! The original flower horn has been carefully repainted in a special process that creates a tranlucent finish identical to the original factory lacquer. Plus, cheerful cabbage roses have been hand-painted by our artist, in the manner of times past, capturing the precise look of the early twentieth century.. The outstanding condition of all the components makes this delightful instrument enormously appealing. Original factory cabinet finish and decal.

Our immaculate antique talking machine will bring a smile to the face of anyone. The horn is especially charming, the perfect size to compliment the cabinet. This instrument will play one 10" diameter 78 rpm record per winding, the motor is strong and reliable. Do not mistake our carefully adjusted, painstakingly restored instruments for the wrecks you find on eBay -- our machines work properly and sound great!”

Price: $1250.00 US, plus s/h (NY State residents must add tax if applicable.).

SOLD: Victor Talking Machine "MS" (Monarch Special) from 1904.

"This spectacularly carved oak cabinet ranks as the Victor considered most beautiful by the public. It so perfectly expresses the period! Our restoration has been performed to preserve all the important historical features (including the original cabinet finish) which are so susceptible to devastation by amateur handiwork. You would have to describe us as "obsessive" about doing things correctly. No other dealer is "crazy" enough to spend time we invest in getting things RIGHT. This instrument appears today (and PLAYS) as it did the day it left the factory. The black flower horn has been restored to its original appearance, with ebony paint and snappy gold trim.

The Victor Monarch Special was and still is a top-of-the-line instrument. Today, it's a highly collectible, but eminently ATTAINABLE object of desire."

For sale, we have an exceptional Vic IV talking machine from 1913.

"The importance of this instrument is that it has survived in an extraordinary state of preservation. And we have cleaned and adjusted it, but we haven't tampered with its condition. Original cabinet finish. Original paint on the horn. This stunning instrument literally glows. It is crisp, and clean, and clear, and classy. Dazzling, delightful, bewitching, ravishing! No other seller has the 52 year experience and expertise that we put into our instruments every day. We have examined closely the work of other dealers, they are nice people, but they do not even have enough knowledge to understand the mistakes they are making.

Most Victor talking machines were constructed of oak. Reasonably few were mahogany because mahogany was more expensive. This makes the Victor IV a rarity, and the look of it is undeniably alluring. If you want to experience what a Victor Talking Machine was like when it was new -- get this one! See how it shines! This incredibly pristine, excellent playing, sleekly beautiful Victor is a delight to the eyes AND ears."

Price: $2850.00 US, plus shipping and handling. (NY State residents must pay sales tax, if applicable.)

Up for sale is an absolutely stunning 1909 HMV (His Masters Voice) Gramophone, "Victor Monarch".

"This istrument is in almost every way identical to a Victor I (One). Looking at it, an American entusiast would pronounce it a Victor I without hesitation. However, it was sold by Victor's British cousin, the Gramophone Company, Ltd. In the UK it was known as the "Victor Monarch." The cabinet has original finish, all components are in excellent condition. When this machine was offered in the USA, it was equipped with an 8" diameter turntable. Sold in the UK, the Victor Monarch Gramophone has a 10" turntable.

This delightful performer will not fail to bring a smile to your face, and magical music to your ears."

Up for sale is a beautiful 1909 Harmony talking machine.

"This instrument is a TIME MACHINE! It is absolutely pristine, with all-original components and everything in excellent condition. It looks as fresh as the day it was made. The Harmony plays special 78 rpm records that have a 3/4" spindle size. You see them displayed here next to the machine. You are getting eleven of these wonderfful discs as part of this package. Please note the original paint flower horn. Harmony horns were always blue. And this blue horn is astoundingly well presrerved.

One of the Midwestern brands of disc talking machine at the turn of the 20th century was the "Harmony," sold by the Great Northern Manufacturing Co. of Chicago. Great Northern had begun by distributing chinaware to the retail trade, to be used as premiums. Soon, however, it entered the talking machine business, and stayed in it for 10 years. Harmony instruments were in fact designed and built by the Columbia Phonograph Co., who were justly famous in their own right as high quality manufacturers.

This amazingly fresh and bright "Harmony" is about the most pleasing, plump, peppy and perfectly balanced instrument you can find! The outstanding condition of all the components makes this delightful instrument all the better. Our immaculate antique talking machine will bring a smile to the face of anyone. This instrument will play one 10" diameter 78 rpm record per winding, the motor is strong and reliable. Do not mistake our carefully tuned, painstakingly cleaned and regulated instrument for the junk you find on eBay -- our machines work properly and sound great!"

Up for sale is a gorgeous Victor "II" Talking Machine, 1907.

"Don't miss this opportunity to own a gorgeous vintage Victor which has been meticulously restored, cleaned and adjusted. All the components are original. We have carefully restored the original Victor flower horn, complete with historically accurate decal. The charming oak cabinet, with its ID plate featuring the famous dog logo. All components clean and well maintained. Because we always sweat the details, we replaced the mainspring in the motor, and this reliable Victor spring motor will run any 78 rpm record. 78s are plentiful and can be found in every locality, but if you need some to start you off, we are happy to include some with the instrument. No matter where or from whom you buy a Victor, you can not find a finer instrument than we offer at phonophan.

The Victor II is a delightful blast of musical mirth from the past! From phonophan you always buy with confidence -- no text copied and pasted directly from other Web sites, no vague or inaccurate descriptions, no silly personal observations lacking historical merit. Consumers are wise to take with at least a pound of salt what they read online nowadays -- but remember, at phonophan we literally 'wrote the book!'"

For sale, we are offering a lovely Victor "II" talking machine, with oak wooden horn, 1910.

"This later version of the II had an enlarged oak cabinet and other improved features -- and this particular example is in truly excellent condition. It's the HORN, however, that really seduces the eye! We call your attention to the spectacular oak horn. In our opinion, based on many years of observation, this special wooden horn, specifically made for the Victor II, has the most stunning and vibrant grain ever created.

This stunning instrument entertains today as it did a century ago ! This Victor II looks and plays great! What is the difference between what you buy from phonophan and what you buy from eBay? EVERYTHING. We are constantly shocked and bewildered to see the level of outright deceit that passes for "normal" every day on eBay. If you want the TRUTH, call us today!

Price: $2950.00 US, plus shipping and handling. (NY State residents must pay sales tax, if applicable.)"
