Wildewood Off the beaten path in downtown Helen, we are one of the best-kept secrets around. Experience the most unique shopping experience in town.

Wildewood proudly offers handcrafted and unique items including jewelry, knives, clothing, wind chimes, Turkish lamps, stepping stones and bird feeders. We also carry gift items: children’s classic toys, books, Willow Tree, Native American items; Turkish ceramics, American made pottery, Mexican pottery, Green Onyx

Our rock shop includes geodes, agates, quartz, semi-precious gemstones and bonsai

trees. Our knife brands: Horns for Heroes (Barto Knives), Case, Opinel, and locally made Bubba Knives. For the outdoor adventurer: walking sticks, hiking and naturalist guides; Landmark and Wander North Georgia apparel. You're sure to find something you can't resist! Take a stroll down the alley to experience Wildewood. Offering shopping for everyone and benches on the porch for those who just want to sit a spell or play a friendly game of checkers. Building History:
Built around 1911, Wildewood was originally a row house built for laborers working for the Byrd-Matthews lumber company. River Street was first called "Red Row," referring to the row of red homes built here just before Helen became a city in 1913. Wildewood obtained its name from being a rafting outpost, which then turned into a gift shop known for its wind chimes & rocks. Wildewood's current ownership has remodeled & upgraded with the intention of keeping the original character intact. Wildewood is locally owned and operated by a family deeply rooted in Helen's history, with generations tracing their heritage in the area.

We’ve loved seeing everyone getting in a warm weather mood over spring break. This weekend is especially beautiful. It’s even warm enough to do some rejuvenating on the river. We saw people were having a great time today☀️

It’s getting warm outside ☀️We’re excited to announce that tubing will be open tomorrow and Sunday from 11am to 5pm! We will be open for short ride only (1 hour trips). Visit us at 590 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen Georgia to float!

Due to the large ice storm earlier this year, we still have more clean up to do on the long ride. Follow us for more openings and updates!
