Did you know that Heidi's Yarn Haven is now Purple Needle?

The name is a shoutout to California's state grass, a native bunch grass that grows deep roots and promotes the health of plants' and animals' communities it lives in. 🌾💜 (How fitting!) And of course, the new shop name also references various needle types in all sorts of crafts.

You've probably seen the new shop owner, Meredith, before. She was the brain behind Heidi's social media presence, and could often be found working in the shop photographing yarns and filming fun videos.

Don't worry, Heidi isn't going anywhere! She's still an important part of the team. (So is Purl the pup, of course! 🐾)

Give Purple Needle a follow, and be sure to visit them up in Ukiah during the hop!

The 2026 Wine Country Yarn Hop is next month! 🐰✂️ July 17-19

Here's How to Hop:

1. Start hopping at the shop of your choice:
📍 Fiber Circle Studio (Petaluma)
📍 Noma Knits (Sonoma)
📍 Cast Away Yarn Shop (Santa Rosa)
📍 Purls Of Joy (Healdsburg)
📍 Purple Needle (Ukiah)
2. Receive 1 FREE passport (make sure it’s stamped!), and 1 raffle ticket. One passport per person.
3. Optional: Purchase a custom Wine Country Yarn Hop tote bag or lanyard, and receive your 1st shops custom enamel pin!
4. Write your name and phone number on your passport. Keep the passport and bring with you to each shop.
5. Fill out the shop raffle ticket. Leave the raffle ticket at that shop.
6. Check out the shop’s FREE pattern and download the PDF from the website using the code listed on the passport.
7. Wander the luscious yarns and fibers in the shop!
8. Take photos and tag us on social media!
9. On to the next shop. Make sure you get a stamp on your passport, and a pin if you purchased a tote bag or lanyard!
10. Repeats steps 5 - 9 until you have filled your passport with all 5 stamps! You do not have to visit all shops to participate or be entered into individual shop prize baskets. All 5 stamps are required to be entered into the Grand Prize!
11. Make sure your name and number are on your passport in order to be entered into the Grand Prize! Turn your fully stamped passport in to any shop.

The SATURDAY bus for the is sold out, and unfortunately we are not able to add additional busses. We recommend signing up for the waiting list! In case of any cancellations, you might be able to grab a seat.

Please note: the waitlist does NOT guarantee you a seat! Space will only open up if someone cancels. Waitlist notifications are first come, first serve - so be sure to jump on it if you do get notified!

Join us on the bus! 🚌🐇🧶 For the 2026 , we’ll drive you to each shop so all you have to do is sit back, make new friends, and maybe even cast on a new project!

GOODIE BAGS!! All bus passengers will receive:
👜 A 2026 WCYH tote bag
🐰 All 5 collectable enamel pins
🎟️ A fully stamped passport!

⏰ Timing: You will have 40 minutes at each shop, plus an extra 30 minutes for the lunch stop at Cast Away.

🥪 Lunch: The lunch break isn't long enough for a restaurant, so you will need to bring a sack lunch, -OR- order a delicious box lunch (coming soon!!***) which be waiting for you at Cast Away for your lunch break! Gluten free and vegan options available.
***Once the lunch option is ready we will email all registered bus passengers a link.

✌️ We are offering the bus for two days of the Hop- please note that each day is a different route, choose the route that works best for your pick up and drop off location: Friday is Healdsburg, & Saturday is Petaluma (no Sunday bus).

Did you make a bunny for last year's Yarn Hop Bunny KAL? We have something NEW for 2026: Best Dressed Bunny contest! Make a fabulous outfit for your Bunny and you will be entered to win a prize valued at $150!

Contest rules:
1. Follow the Wine Country Yarn Hop page on Instagram and/or Facebook.
2. Sign up to receive Yarn Hop emails.
3. Submit an image of your Bunny wearing their outfit on Instagram and/or Facebook using the hashtag by July 20, 2026.

First time hopping with us, or didn't make a bunny last year? We're still holding the Bunny KAL this year too! Make a bunny and bring it to the Hop for bonus raffle tickets. 🎟️🐰 Tag your Bunny on Instagram & Facebook with the hashtag . Your bunny can be knit, crochet, sewn, felted - as long as it’s handmade by you it counts! 💕
