Thank you everyone that came out to the Decatur Art Guild Alabama Jubilee Arts & Crafts Show this weekend. It was a soggy weekend so I appreciate all who came to see us and support us.
That is a wrap on my Spring season. It has been a long time since I did 11 shows in one season and I am worn out but also so grateful for all of you who continue to support me.
I am taking June off. My next show is Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair in July. I will be there for one week only July 10-14 I believe are the dates. I will post more about this soon.

This weekend! I will be in the Event Center at the Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Festival. Im hoping we see the balloons take off but if it is raining come inside and see me and 100+ crafters and artists. Also a classic car show and tractor show. Going to be a fun weekend

May 23rd & 24th

🌅 Early morning: balloons
Wake up early and head to the fields at Point Mallard Park for one of the most awe-inspiring moments of the weekend, the morning balloon launch!
The air is cool, the crowd is hushed and then suddenly colorful balloons slowly rise into the sky.

🖼️ Shop vendors and artist at Decatur Art Guild Alabama Jubilee Arts & Crafts Show
After balloons head over to the event center at Point Mallard (across from the soccer field) to shop from over 130 vendors! This year they will have indoor and outdoor shopping! Saturday 7 to 7 & Sunday 8 to 6.

💦 Splash into summer
After shopping, lean all the way into summer at Point Mallard Park Water Park a local favorite and home to one of the first wave pools in the U.S.
* float the lazy river
* ride the slides
* cool off in the wave pool
It’s nostalgic, fun and the perfect contrast to the slow morning.
✨ tip: bring a change of clothes so you can head straight back out after

🍔 Afternoon: refuel + wander
Head back into town for a laid back lunch think burgers, sandwiches, pizza, BBQ, or something quick before the evening festivities ramp up.

Then take a little time to explore downtown:

* iced coffee stops
* shaded sidewalks

🎶 Evening: festival energy
Return to Point Mallard Park for the heart of Jubilee.

* families spread out on blankets

And then… the main event.

Thank you all that came to Birmingham Folk Festival. It was a wonderful show! So many people supporting us thank you. Also thank you for the ones that came to Arts and Antiques on the Bluff. I was honored to be asked to participate.

This weekend is Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Festival Decatur Art Guild Alabama Jubilee Arts & Crafts Show in Decatur, AL. I will be inside the new event center. It is a free show with 100+ artists and crafters. So even if it is raining or hot come inside and see us. Point Mallard Park Saturday 7-7 and Sunday 8-6

I need feedback. The price of silver keeps going up. I know i sound like a commercial but it is true. A sterling silver clasp used to cost me 2 to 5 dollars. Now they are 15.00 to 25.00 dollars. Same with my sterling chains. I have always used sterling silver with my freshwater pearls but I am thinking about switching to stainless steel to stay affordable. Stainless steel is nickel free, hypo allergenic and affordable with the look of silver. If I stay with sterling I am afraid I am going to have to go up on my pearl jewelry drastically. And that will deter some of my customers from buying from me. We got used to sterling being affordable. I am not talking about plated jewelry. There is a difference between .925 sterling, stainless steel and silver plate. I do use some plated silver on my costume stuff. Anyway
Thoughts what do you all think of stainless steel? I can always do sterling if it is requested and paid for.
Also
If you have sterling jewelry or gold jewelry at home even if it is broken prices of silver and gold both are high and probably will continue to be high. Hold onto it or sell for scrap.

Looking around my craft room today I noticed this piece. This is the first piece I ever made using vintage jewelry to make a collage pendant. I guess it has been over 10 years ago. I dont know if it didn't sell back then or if I decided to keep it. I dont remember. It has been hanging on a lamp shade in my craft room all these years. I handmade the pearl links with freshwater pearls and gold wire. I guess I put it on that lampshade and forgot about it.
