So for about 2 weeks I have been in a battle with my heating company. 4 years ago I bought a whole new system from Adam Mechanical. They were a nice local company. My salesman was a dad at my kid’s school. I paid them 12K for a new Rheem heating and cooling system. For 4 years it worked great. I had one issue, but they fixed it quick. No biggie. So a little while ago a company Sila bought them and now they’re doing business as Adam Home Services. You may see their yellow & blue trucks with the fake “Adam” Cartoon character on their vans now. What a difference this company has become! So I haven’t had heat in a week now! No heat! They “fixed” my heater (that is under warranty). The main control board went. After paying $450 for the labor even though the parts were under warranty (way to stand behind your product Adam!) I had heat for a few days then my heater quit again. The guy comes out and says my cap came off of my chimney. I should get a cap, liner, and get the chimney cleaned. They quoted me $3,600 to do it. Well I have quite a network of friends. I know somebody who does it or I have a friend who knows a good guy for the job. So John Barr who does chimney cleaning and repairs is my guy for that. John comes out puts in a stainless steel liner, cap, and cleans it (he also rescued a bird from a firey death). John charges me $2,500 and gives me a lifetime warranty. John is a good man. If you need a chimney guy i’ll get you his number. He even wears a real chimney sweeper hat! So i guess Adam Home was butt hurt because they didn’t get me to pay their over inflated price for their chimney service. So now it’s been a week for them “to order and get parts” for them to fix my warranty repair that they are charging me another $380 to do. So that brings my warranty repair to the $850 range. Remember I paid them 12K 4 years ago! So I guess the moral of this long rant is the warm you all DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ADAM HOME SERVICES!!! They use to be a nice local company that is now owned by a big money, greedy, money sucking big company that just wants to work you for every dollar!
Sad to see!
Another good thing is I also have a network of friends who are attorneys. If you need a good attorney I have a guy for that too. If anything like a pipe bursts Adam is going to meet those friends.

So last week I got a call from a local woman whose daughter was from Havertown and went to Haverford High School. She found I had a local Skateshop in Havertown and was wondering if I could help her with her daughter’s art collection. She had told me about her daughter who was an artist now based out of Baltimore, MD. She had just passed away suddenly and she was looking to display her art and maybe sell some of it. She had done a good amount of skateboard art for Habitat. I posted some pictures and here is her website: www.elenajohnston.com. If anyone is interested check out her site. We were talking about possibly trying to get some of her work displayed at an art gallery or art show. Elena Johnston did a lot of art work for various products as well as art works for display. Elena was only 38 at the time of her sudden passing. If anyone has any interest in her or art or displaying her art let me know. Let keep Elena alive through her art!

Happy Friday Everyone! Well my van threw a rod so any of you who work on cars know what that means? It’s gotta go buy a new engine! So I need to raise some cash fast. I’m selling boards and stuff!
