🌿 Could cannabis hold the key to the next generation of weight-loss medications?
A recent Medscape article highlights new research suggesting that certain compounds found in cannabis may help regulate metabolism and improve glucose control—without relying solely on THC. In animal studies, researchers found that whole-plant cannabis extracts not only promoted weight loss but also improved markers associated with type 2 diabetes. Researchers believe non-intoxicating compounds within the plant may eventually help inspire new treatments for obesity and metabolic disorders.
It's important to note that this research is still in its early stages, and scientists are not recommending cannabis as a weight-loss treatment. Instead, they're working to identify specific compounds that could one day be developed into safe, effective medications.
