Seven Sister's Shop

Seven Sister's Shop Hand painted gourds, ornaments, and whimisical folk arts by local and family artists. Products of vivid imaginations!

A shop visitor and longtime family friend made this very cool animated version of one of my 2026 Uncle Sam’s…
I’m sharing, hoping you’ll all find it as delightful as I did!
(See below)

Note: I’ll be painting some more of these. They were a bit of a hit.
It’s a big year for America!

It was such a nice day.
Irish music played softly from a speaker near the refreshment table, intermingling with the sounds of laughter amongst old friends.

The artful wares were on hand but not overpowering, just there to be enjoyed, interspersed with potted daffodils and clover.

It was about reconnecting.
Enjoying the variety of cookies—of which some enjoyed too many (👋🏼).
Sharing stories about our common winter struggles and our hopes for Spring, with many still limping from the former.
It was about checking in on each other, remembering those who couldn’t be with us, who we’d lost, or who were struggling.
It was about the visiting dogs, who made us all smile again.
It was about common ground.

The sun perked in and out—mostly out, but it did not rain and for that we are grateful.
The wind was just enough to make the wind chimes sing for most of the day, but some chilly gusts sent visitors scurrying inside to the warmth of the stove.

We shook off the winter.
It was NICE.
Thank you to everyone—and St. Patrick—who made it out to make it so.

A wee bit ‘o GREEN going on here, dontcha know!

Not tae mention the sweets and jams and jewelry and candles…Some of our vendors just wanted to push out the relentless winter chill and have an off-season day in the shop—Irish style.

We see you, St. Patrick! Bring us some sunshine!

Well, because St. Patrick's Day is a special holiday for us and milder weather is expected after the longest, snowiest, iciest, and coldest winter in the history of mankind, 🙂, we will be open on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

It's become a tradition!

Several vendors will have a few of their signature items on hand, and I've painted some new Irish-themed goodies.

Hope to see some familiar faces! 👋🏼

NOTE: The artwork photo for this announcement shows something a little different than Irish-themed items, but it's centered around a quite special and well-worth-celebrating event—America’s 250th birthday!

These quirky and folky Uncle Sam's commemorating America's 250th birthday are new to the shop and limited to this year only.

We will be open today from 10am until 2pm.
(Fewer bells and whistles, and a wee bit quieter, but open!)
We know from experience that there will be those who “just need one more little thing…”
And because we so enjoy what we do here.
❤️

If we don’t see you, have a safe and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

The last car has gone.
The quiet is complete.

But if you really listen, the silence still hums with the echoes of people laughing, talking, enjoying each other.

I take it in.
A little sad, but smiling.

We had ourselves a time, didn’t we?

I want to thank everyone—every visitor, every person with a smile, and every person with a story.
You all bring your own bit of magic into the shop with you, and leave a bit behind when you go…
It stays. Becomes part of our combined story; the echoes.

Today I was reminded that we often never know who we have impact on, unless we’re specifically told.
We may never know who we save with a smile, or who felt less lonely from a sincerely happy welcoming.
We may never know exactly how we mattered.
But by just being genuine in appreciation, we do our best to create such unlimited, necessary life mysteries.

It’s a gift knowing you mattered to someone.

I hope to offer just such a gift—to solve just one mystery for you now, outright, by letting you know that if you walked through our door, and gave us the chance to try and improve your day at all, we absolutely appreciate you.
And we hope we DID indeed improve your day.
You did ours.

Thank you all, so much.

Have a safe and very merry Christmas, everyone.

Note: The shop has seen its last official Saturday of 2025.
But if you should still need some little thing for some special person, text 302-270-4848 and I’ll open that door.
I might go as far as to open the shop on Christmas Eve…some of those hopeless last-minute folks like me out there might need the extra support. 😉

Hours on 12/24 will be the usual—from 10am until 2pm.

Well, tomorrow is our last Saturday of 2025.
We know it will be wonderful because the people are, and the wares are.

But it will be hard, too.

The rest of the winter days ahead seem a little colder without the promise of the weekly laughter, the pure joy of seeing friends and enjoying the moments with them.

Somehow, though, after the last car beeps as it heads down the driveway and I wave, going back into the shop to turn out the lights, I find a smile.

It was FANTASTIC.

Memories flash: Old friends embracing, new friends shaking hands, perfect gifts found for someone unknown to us but so special to the happy buyer, practical jokes played, the teasing, crazy moments, FRANTIC moments, heartwarming moments, delicious soups that made everyone smile and say “Mmmmmm!”, good music, a warm fire, and good, enthusiastic stories told.

That’s exactly what it’s all about.

Tomorrow will be appreciated as well, because it’s a series of real moments with real people in a place of honest warmth: a rare few steps back in time from the harried world, the faceless crowds and the impersonal rush.
Moments that remind you that these are the good old days.
The moments we are living right now.

Thank you all.
❤️👋🏼

Note: Please enjoy a few of my favorite snapshots of the warmth I’ve described, below.

I’ve also included photos of some new art—driftwood pins, a larger driftwood Santa, and 2025 gourd ornaments as well as a recently acquired collection of Sarah Nelson gourd ornaments from years past, as requested by collectors.
A rare opportunity!

See you tomorrow. ❤️
