Shane's Firearm Destination is a firearm store like you used to shop at as a kid. Family owned and run by a local that has sold and worked in fi****ms for the last 15 years. I will continue with the customer service that everyone has come to expect from me and keep doing my best to sell fi****ms and class 3 items.

Day 2:

We were back on the water by 5am and through the lock and looking for a big gator soon after 6am.
This time we had the boat owner and buddy Edwinn aka Chocolate Thunder with us, he said for good luck, we're not sure if that was true or not, time would tell. 😄😏🤔

As we crused the river we quickly release that the prior days boat action was making the bigger gators duck under the water way sooner, making it really hard to get close.
We still saw many gators, mostly smaller ones including some that even sat on the bank and let us ride by or stayed on top as we eased by.

We had decided that any nice ones would be getting a hook sent their way, so soon into the morning I threw on a few nice ones but couldn't connect.
Marshall our good friend and glorious guide took the pole and pulled off another miraculous snag under the water that we soon questioned was a log when it didn't move.
I quickly on the pole giving the wife some assistance before handing it over and I was unable to make it come up an inch when Edwinn said pluck the string to try and irritate it. That worked and we knew we had a nice one when it finally moved around on the bottom.

Longer story, way shorter we with teamwork and everyone doing something to help got two hand lines in finding out everything was in the gators back right foot.
When I say all I mean all three lines....lol! 🐊

We got the fishing line hook out and I rehooked it in the jaw. Giving us the ability to pull it slowly up to the surface, from front and back, so the wife could get a hit it and it would be orientated correctly.
Then the bang stick got loaded and the wife made a great hit on it, dispatching the big reptile.
Once the mouth was taped we drug it into the boat took pictures there and on a sand bar and headed to the processor.

What a super unique and fantastic time the wife and I had.
With really good friends, on a short but awesome weekend, hunting a dinosaur. 🦖 We were offered a opportunity and jumped on it to have a new adventure and a story many may not ever have.

ATTN: With a lot of thinking, and some hesitation still, I have decided to take baby steps in the direction of doing special orders and transfers of "AW" guns and mags as of 8/18/26!!

We'll see were this leads and take it slow but I think it's time for some movement in that direction.

Although I will be taking, more time to look into the NFA thing and will be doing suppressor sales normal with a form 4, for the time being!

I am back and we had a short but awesome time this past weekend in Florida with our really good friends McKenzie, Marshall and Edwinn (finally meeting his wife Kalya too).

The drive down was a ton of traffic and piles of heavy rainstorms that made for a 15ish hour drive instead of 14. Even with all the mess we made it there about 8pm after leaving at 5am from home.

DAY ONE... August 15th:

We were on the water at 5am Saturday morning and stayed till 2:30pm with 112° heat index. We managed to hook a 5.5-6-foot gator early on, for what we joked was "funzzies" practicing the whole process of throwing the weighted hook on a fishing pole, getting a hand line in with buoy after to help if the fishing line brakes and then getting it to the boat.

Since it wasn't near "BIG ENOUGH " we taped it's mouth shut, brought it in the boat for petting and pictures then practiced catch-and-release.
It was what the locals call a little swamp puppy...lol! 😄🐊

Later, I hooked a solid 10 foot or slightly better but after a 15–20-minute fight we lost it trying to get a hand line in.
After the bear hook came up our buddy/guide/experienced person Marshall, casted out the fishing line trying to snag as it went away under water and somehow managed to hook a different 8 foot plus we didn't know was there.
We fought it for another 20ish minutes to have the line pop/break right as we were trying to get a hand line it. Dang... failed attempt number two to land a bigger one!

Truthfully thought, we would have released it too, having planned to go for a 10 foot plus day one.

With all the fun, excitement, mornings new experiences and the heat blazing, we decided to call it a day to return again early Sunday morning for a second/last outing.

P.S- I'll hit you'll with day two next, stayed tuned as they say, it only gets better!! Hahaha

WELL FOLKS IT'S ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT BEFORE THE WIFE AND I HEAD SOUTH!!

S.F.D will be CLOSED Friday & Saturday the 14th & 15th, back OPEN normal hours Tuesday the 18th.... if all goes well.

Oh, I am also being taunted and teased as always by my buddy in FL.

He's been sending pictures of gators in the river where we will be hunting, saying, "look they are waiting on you'll hurry up".
Plus going on about having a monster for the wife in the first few hours Saturday morning...we'll see!

It will be super fun and exciting no matter what!
