Volunteer Appreciation Week, celebrated April 19th–25th, was a dedicated time for us to say thank you to the incredible volunteers who give their time, compassion, and energy to our hospital and community. To celebrate, we hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Banquet with a 1920s “Golden Years — Golden Hearts” theme.
Our guests arrived in their best 1920s attire, ready for an evening filled with great food, music, and plenty of laughter. Western Sizzlin’ served a delicious meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, and a walnut salad. NARMC Food and Nutrition Services offered chocolate layered cake and lemon meringue pie for dessert. Sweet Honey added to the fun with specialty coffee drinks like the Bee’s Knees latte, the Roaring Roast, and the Vanilla Velvet Brew, which were a hit with guests of all ages.
The Earth Bone Band kept the energy high with live performances of favorite throwback songs that had everyone clapping, dancing, and singing along. To top it all off, guests took home adorable golden heart pens as a keepsake. Heather Fitzgerald’s balloon décor tied everything together, bringing a festive and elegant touch to the evening.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who helped bring this night to life. From planning and decorating to serving and cleanup, you made the evening truly special. And to our amazing volunteers: you are the heart of what we do. Your time, energy, and care make a real difference every day, and we are so grateful for each of you. You’re the cat’s meow, and we couldn’t do it without you!
