For those who love lemon: Lemon Cream pie. Shortbread cookie crust with the perfect balance of sweet and tart.

And to usher in Spring, Rhubarb Frangipane pie. Toasted almond frangipane is a lovely foil to the tartness of rhubarb.

Welcome to Between the Cover's latest Bookmark Series!
Theme: "The Quotable Reader"

Please take a moment to read through all of the guidelines for submission.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to let us know. Our customers and readers are always so excited when new bookmarks arrive. It is a wonderful way for a miniature reproduction of your art to end up in the hands of many. Thank you for submitting your artwork for consideration.

Guidelines:
1. All entries must be received by 8:00 pm on June 1, 2026. The series will run from July 2026 through June 2027. $100 cash prize for the winning series!
2. Artists must submit two to four designs within the series' theme. The theme is open to interpretation, so be as creative as you'd like (but do keep at least one design child friendly!). Please submit all designs at the same time.
3. Any media that can be transferred in some way to paper is acceptable.
Black-and-white, full color, or grey scale-that is up to you.
(Bookmarks are NOT printed on photo paper.)
4. Art should be created for bookmarks whose dimensions measure 2
1/4" x 6". This includes a 1/4" bleed surrounding the entire image, which must be allowed for printing purposes.
5. Bookmarks are single-sided.
6. Do not include bookstore information on the bookmark. Our in-house graphic designer will add digitally before printing.
7. Designs must be submitted in a jpg format via email to [email protected]. If your artwork has not been created in a digital way, you may scan and send as a jpg file. If your designs are chosen for the series and the printers require any adjustments, we may ask for your assistance in resizing or reconfiguring a file.

No need to overthink this. Grab a quote from your favorite book. Illustrate a line of poetry. Make up a quote about reading. The world is your oyster! The options are endless! Let your imagination run wild!

But only until June 1st, so hop to it!
And thanks for taking the time to submit.

Thank You Book Bonanza Sponsors!

With immeasurable gratitude to our Summer Book Bonanza sponsors who elected to support classrooms in the Harbor Springs elementary and middle schools, every student in grades PreK thru 8th will receive a new hardcover book to call their own. (Additionally, the Blackbird Childcare Center will receive boxes upon boxes of books to add to their classroom libraries—for infants through three-year-olds.)

Over the past couple of weeks, students have learned about a variety of books for their grade/age level and each has selected their number one pick. Between the Covers has placed the orders with our publishing partners and books will be distributed during the final days of this school year. Allowing students to participate in the selection process was instrumental, and this ownership greatly increases the likelihood that young readers will actually pick up and read their books this summer.

We can’t wait to hear all about them and cannot thank our sponsors enough. THANK YOU for making this possible!
