Hi! I thought I was taking a short break.
Turns out, I needed a longer one.
Stepping away wasn’t planned, but it was necessary. Life asked more of me than I could give for a while, so I listened.
Recently, I went back into the studio because a few of you asked. And in that unexpected return, joy found me again. I felt happy. I felt like myself.
So I created.
New scents.
A soft new look.
Watercolor labels that feel gentle and imperfect.
I don’t know if this is the future of Mad Darling, but it’s right for right now.
If you’re looking for Christmas gifts, these candles may be limited and they are truly something special.

Hey y’all, this post is long overdue. Three weeks ago, my family and I suffered a great loss with the passing of Will—my best friend, my child’s father, and truly my number one fan. The picture here is just one small way of honoring him. He was always helping me set up at Frenchmen Art Market ❤️
I’ve taken some time away from the studio, but I want to thank everyone for their patience and support. All orders have gone out, and any new ones will ship this weekend.
Everything currently available is now on the website, so if you have a favorite fragrance, be sure to grab it—some may be taking their final bow. After Labor Day, I’ll share which scents are staying and introduce a few new ones.
I hope you’ll continue with me on this next chapter of Mad Darling. Your support has meant more than I can say.

♻️ BYOJ — Bring Your Own Jar! 🕯️
Have a cute jar you’ve been saving? A mug you love? A weird little container that screams “put wax in me”? GOOD NEWS: You can now bring in your own jar and I’ll fill it with your favorite scent!

It’s a fun way to recycle, save a little money, and make your candle extra personal. Look at this marble jar I repurposed. Just make sure your jar is clean, heat-safe, and holds at least 6 oz of wax.

Drop it off at the Sunday Market or anytime after — I got you. 💛

✨ I’m BACK, baby! ✨
After a little hiatus (because life be life-ing), I’m so excited to be hosting a Sunday Market along with at our Harahan studio this Sunday with some amazing local vendors! 💃🕯️🎨

I’ll have a full stock of candle goodies—yes, the shelves will be lit (literally). Some of your favorite scents may be taking a final bow soon 👀 so if there’s one you love, now’s the time to grab it before it rides off into the sunset! 🌅

Hi friends, it’s Jessica.
I’m taking a pause from candle-making—for now. As many of you know, the rising cost of supplies has made it tough to keep things going without raising prices, and I don’t want to do that.

At the end of this month, I’ll be releasing the last of the candles I currently have in stock so keep an eye out for that drop and grab your faves.

Looking ahead: I’ll be reintroducing 5 scents—some favorites, plus a few new ones I’ve been obsessed with. I’ll also be offering a new option to refill your empty candle jars from home. It’s a more cost-effective and environmentally conscious way to keep the glow going.
