This past weekend, Aisha from And Still We Rise stopped by with her book, Magic In The Shadows: How My Darkest Moments Revealed My Light, and spent some time talking about generational healing, resilience, and breaking cycles.

I say it all the time, but the studio ends up being about a lot more than candles. Sometimes it turns into a place where people share stories, swap perspectives, and remind each other they're not alone.

We rode the whole Hanover Trolley Trail today—what an absolute treasure. 🚲🌾
The wetland restoration area is stunning right now, with wildflowers and tons of giant Mullein growing all along the path. It's easy to forget how much cool stuff you can find right here in Hanover!

Highly recommend hitting the trail if you need a quick reset. 🖤

We've had a few people ask whether Cultivated Essentials Co. is affiliated with the new Cultivated Coffee location opening in Hanover.

The answer is no.

Cultivated Essentials Co. is an independently owned candle studio located at 28 Frederick Street in downtown Hanover and has no affiliation, partnership, or connection with Cultivated Coffee or Olive Branch.

We appreciate everyone who reached out to ask and wanted to clear up any confusion.

We wish them success in their new venture and look forward to seeing another local business invest in our community.

Pine trees, damp earth, crushed leaves, and the sound of a running stream.

Which probably explains why half my candles smell like a state park. 🤷🏻‍♀️🌲

The studio is closed today, so Bill and I are taking the bikes out on the rail trail for a little nature therapy. 🚲

In the meantime, the online shop is always open if you need a little bit of the forest delivered to your door. 😉

Every week, someone new walks into the studio and says, "I had no idea you could make your own candle just a few minutes down the road."

Honestly, I love hearing that. It means there are still so many neighbors I haven't met yet, and so much room for people to discover this space for the first time. 😉

So I figured it was time for a reintroduction.

I'm Heather, owner of Cultivated Essentials Co. Candle Studio in downtown Hanover.

At its core, Cultivated Essentials is a DIY candle studio where you can create your own custom-scented candles, room sprays, and more.

What started as a candle studio has grown quite a bit over the years. In 2024, Infused Naturals joined us under the same roof, and today you'll also find local makers, workshops, plants, books, vintage treasures, private parties, fundraisers, and an amazing community that keeps giving me new ideas.

My goal has always been to create a space filled with things that help you cultivate yourself and your space—whether that's a custom candle, a good book, herbal tea, a new favorite plant, or just a little experience.

Walk-in candle making is available Friday through Sunday, and reservations are available on Thursdays.

VP Designs Company creates Curated Discovery Bundles filled with gently used books, tea, hot cocoa, snacks, bookmarks, stickers, reading trackers, and all kinds of little extras.
