Weekly Ideas Day, and we are keeping mulch where it belongs.

Today the colony builds a simple mulch bed edge.

Step one. Lay a garden hose along the shape you want and step back to check the curve.

Step two. Cut a trench along that line about three inches deep.

Step three. Set your Heritage ties into the trench, leveling each one front to back.

Step four. Butt the ends tight and pin each tie with rebar so nothing shifts.

Step five. Refresh the mulch inside the new edge and admire the line.

Doing this around planting beds?

Line the bed with a heavy duty liner and keep it for ornamental and decorative plants only.

No edible gardens.

Heritage ties are the sweet spot here. Character without the premium.

Something a little different today.

Think about your parking area.

Not the driveway itself, the spot where the extra truck sits, or the boat trailer, or the camper.

Right now it is probably just gravel slowly migrating into the grass.

Frame it in ties and it becomes an actual defined space.

Gravel stays put. Edges stay crisp. The whole property looks intentional instead of accidental.

Strength ties along the working edges where the tires roll.

It is a weekend of work that pays you back every single time you pull in.

Grade two, meet your new name.

Heritage.
$18 per tie.
$360 per bundle of 20.

Naturally aged, full of character, and honest about what it is.

This is your border tie. Your edging tie. Your decorative wall and garden bed tie.

It does not need to hold back a hillside to be exactly right for the job.

For most homeowner projects, Heritage is all the tie you will ever need, and the price reflects that.

Twenty ties, three hundred sixty dollars, a whole yard transformed.

Did you know a railroad tie outlives most fence posts by decades?

Here is why.

These timbers were selected as dense hardwood, then treated and put into service under constant load, weather, and vibration.

Everything weak washed out of the population years ago.

What is left, the ties that made it to our yard, are the survivors.

That is the quiet advantage of reclaimed.

You are not buying new lumber and hoping it holds up.

You are buying timber that already proved it did.

See how we grade them at beaverspavers.com.

August in Carolina has a personality.

Hot enough by noon that you rethink your life choices.

But those early mornings and long evenings are made for working outside.

So work smart.

Start at first light. Break through the middle of the day. Pick it back up when the shadows get long.

That is how a wall gets built in August without anybody getting heat sick.

Hydrate, pace yourself, and enjoy it.

The timber is not going anywhere.

The sale is over, but the free part never was.

Self pickup at our Hamlet yard costs you nothing.

Loading costs you nothing.

Our crew handles the heavy end while you stay clean and keep your back out of it.

We are at 174 Marks Creek Church Rd.

Look for the orange fencing on your way in.

And please do not drive past the small building on your left, since that borders an active rail line and we keep it off limits for everyone's safety.

Back the trailer in and let us do the rest.

Last call, colony.

Code TIES ends tonight.

15 percent off your entire order, and then it is gone until who knows when.

So tell us in the comments, what are you putting it toward?

A wall you have been planning since spring?

Edging that has been on the list for two summers running?

We want to hear it.

And if you have already got your order in, drop a photo of the build when it comes together.

Nothing makes the colony happier than seeing the timber put to work.

Weekly Ideas Day, colony.

Today we are building a simple ornamental planting bed against the house.

Step one. Pick your spot and clear a strip about two feet out from the foundation.

Step two. Dig a shallow trench so your first course sits half buried and stable.

Step three. Set your Heritage ties end to end, leveling each one as you go.

Step four. Pin them with rebar driven through pilot holes near each end.

Step five. Backfill, then plant.

One rule the colony never bends.

Line the bed with a heavy duty liner, and keep it for ornamental and decorative plants only.

No edible gardens. Flowers, shrubs, and foliage only.

Heritage is the right call here. Plenty of character, easy on the budget.

Grab yours at beaverspavers.com, and use code TIES for 15 percent off through August 7.

Here is a build worth stealing.

A raised terrace off the back of the house, framed entirely in reclaimed ties.

Not a deck. Not a patio slab.

A flat, generous platform cut into the grade, walled in timber, filled with gravel or stone.

It gives you level ground where you had none, and it looks like it has been part of the property for fifty years.

Strength ties carry the walls.

Agility ties handle the tighter returns and corners.

The neighbors will assume you hired somebody.

Code TIES saves you 15 percent through August 7.

Meet the new grade one.

Strength.
$24 per tie.
$480 per bundle of 20.

Solid sides, sharper corners, and the density you want when the build has to hold something back.

Retaining walls. Driveway frames. Commercial entrances that take a beating year after year.

This is the tie you reach for when redoing it later is not on the table.

And thanks to the lineup change, it is in stock and staying that way.

Take 15 percent off with code TIES through August 7.
