Our Story

Mavericks PaddleSports is dedicated to the sport of Stand Up Paddleboarding as well as hydro-foiling and wing foiling. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced paddler, we have what you need for a great experience on flat water, a down-winder, surf or foil. We are part of Mavericks Surf Company, founded by Mavericks Pioneer, Jeff Clark, and his partner. Situated on the shores of Pillar Point Harbor, the shop offers easy access to the calm waters of the protected harbor with the beautiful Pacific Ocean just beyond the jetty walls. It's a perfect location for beginners through advanced paddlers! The harbor offers an ideal setting for beginning paddlers to learn and explore, and a great track for flat water racing and training. Sitting at the gateway to the Pacific Ocean and Mavericks, experienced paddlers and racers will find ideal conditions for open ocean paddling, down-winders and surf. After your adventure, enjoy a hot shower and our comfortable amenities - no need to rough it! Our SUP rental fleet ranges from high performance surf SUPs, to cruisers, beginner boards, race boards and downwind boards. We also offer a range of boards for sale -- including the high performance Jeff Clark Surfboards SUP and foilboard line for all conditions. We also carry SUP gear, SUP paddles, hydrofoils, foil boards, surf wings and more. If we don’t have it here, then we have it at our main surf shop just down the road. Located at the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, our shop provides added amenities that are perfect for group adventures, corporate events and team building workshops that can be customized to your needs. Meeting space, a commercial kitchen, full bar, picnic tables, showers, bathrooms and fire pit are all available, with amazing views of Pillar Point Harbor and a staff to help make your event an unforgettable experience. We offer rentals, sales, lessons, special events, races, board storage, and board valet. Come check us out or give us a call to see how we can accommodate your need to get on the water. The shop is just down the road from the legendary Mavericks Surf Shop and a short paddle across the harbor from the big wave spot, located nearly 3/4 mile outside the safety of the harbor.
