Once upon a time....
Our story is like many, many others. It was the spring of 2020, when our world flipped upside down. We are full-time working parents to two beautiful young girls but now we also had to manage virtual learning. It was this moment where I realized my girls loved being read to but did not enjoy reading themselves and struggled. Their frustration and anger would build everyday. I did not want reading to be an argument, I wanted them to want to read...easier said than done!
As life went on and we adjusted to our new "normal" I realized I cannot be the only parent with these struggles. That is when the idea of The Lost Book Shoppe was created. Not only a children's bookstore, but a place where children could discover the love of reading.
Our hope is to provide families with the tools and resources to help encourage their children to want to read. We will host weekly reading and math workshops as well as fun events like Story Time.
With the love and support of family and friends and a year after life changed for everyone, my dream of helping our community and our children is becoming a reality.
