Proof being completely over summer every year is hereditary- my Gaelic ancestors started celebrating the harvest August 1st and celebrated the god Lugh. (He’s featured in the Celtic Lore Oracle deck I created too!)

Back to goddess of the month! -Sorry for the temporary hiatus.

PERSEPHONE- Greek goddess of the Spring.

Like most Greek mythology Persephone’s origin story is… complicated. Abducted by Hades while minding her own damn business picking flowers, Persephone was taken to the underworld. Her mother searched the entire world to find her daughter. Hades told her she could leave the underworld as long as she didn’t eat anything while there. He tempted her with a pomegranate (sound familiar?) and she was trapped.

Her mother, named Demeter, eventually found Persephone after quite the quest (including trying to make a boy immortal and holding him IN A FIRE. Clearly making really good life choices herself) Demeter was able to reunite with her daughter. After much begging and pleading from Demeter Zeus sent a messenger to mansplain to Hades that he did indeed do a crap thing and Demeter DID have a right to get her daughter back. They reached a compromise.

After their custody battle Persephone was allowed to leave the underworld for part of the year. Her return to her mother brought the warmth, sunshine, and abundance of spring hence why Persephone is the goddess of spring! And our goddess for April.

Yes, you read that correctly- enjoy 30% off in store until March 16th! We are trying to lighten our load because March 16th will be our last day being open in Haddonfield.

We have made the difficult decision to close shop and focus on vendor shows due to our absolutely insanely busy lives.

We have loved every single person who has walked through our doors and supported us 🖤 We still have our site and are willing to meet people who order to avoid shipping fees, so reach out if you need something! We have also opened a small spot in Medford at The Shoppes at Medford Mill with our best selling items.
