Just a reminder- if you are seeing this on my FB page “Brassy Peacock Designs” I lost access to this a couple years ago. There was a FB message up and they wouldn’t believe I was me 😤😩. I usually like an antique look, but for this ammonite, I like the shiny against the dark stone.
I am having fun doing some wire wraps on these necklaces. I am@using a bit more copper because we all know what Sterling is doing these days, but I like the look!

I had a request for a spinner ring recently. When I make spinner rings, there are so many steps, that I tend to make a few at once. I typically make the bases all together, then use the base size I need for the special order, and keep the rest to fill my table as needed or in case someone contacts me for a specific size.
Well, it has been a minute (or more like
Months!) since I made any spinners, and I flubbed on the size I needed for the request, lol, my bases are too small or too big! I will work on some more bases today and get it right this time! But, I took some pictures as I went through the steps of making these bases.
These are all sterling silver. They start as a sheet of metal, a few steps and many tools later, and we have rings!

Sigh. This is the silver metal market, previous 5 years. This is just crazy! Such an increase this year alone. I think most people that know my work are familiar with the sterling and fine silver I use. I haven’t raised prices to reflect this huge increase. I like my prices affordable, so I think I will make “less” with silver im the near future, and may have to charge a touch more for anything I make from here on out or special orders.
I hate to do it, but this jump is wild!! ❤️
