Big weekend! Opened up at The Record Rack Friday morning, then helped unveil Terrace Sound at Humdinger that night. Then got the party started Saturday morning for the Space Cats and the Coastal Vibes 2 Year Anniversary and after that, back at Humdinger, sat in as a guest judge for the karaoke competition.
Terrace Sound was great. I was runnin' sound and promoted but Mr. Rabbit was in charge and has a sound, style, vibe and vision for what he has put together and he's taking steps forward every session. He and Easy Lee set things off with their thumbprint on the sounds, then Velanche dropped a 2 hour sonic master class of a set with Just Ge.rge bringing it home with nonstop energy and groove. Awesome night and crowd.
Saturday the community and local business owners came to together to celebrate what Coastal Vibes has been building. I dropped some jams as the group bike ride peddled off then Paddy Marsh and the Space Cats brought the party and had em groovin' into the afternoon. John is helping build the community on West Grand Avenue.
I wasn't sure what we were getting into at Humdinger but it was quickly clear there was a heap of talent hitting the stage all night long and the crowd was treated to a new individual performance as each singer stepped up. Ultimately the winner owned the stage, hitting key characteristics of artists like Gwen Stefani, Selena and Shakira with her own flair. I think us judges got it right but there was tough decisions all night.
