What a morning on the Big Pond!! I originally had planned to take off today but Kale Krusich got a hold of me and said him and his girlfriend would like to go if there was anyway, so we made it happen!! The fish were ABSOLUTELY piled up and it didn't take long at all when the first reel started to SCREAM!!! We had really good fishing for a few hours and then they started to get harder to hit so I looked at the Pensacola Dam report and they kicked the dam on full generation. Over the years I've noticed if they are running a lot of water out the dam the fish get harder to hit out in the deep water for some reason. It didn't matter though we had already hit em' hard and Kale even landed the new #1 for this season!! Thank you guys for a great morning and look forward to having you guys back soon!!

DON'T MISS OUT!!!! We will be doing our yearly trick-o-treat kids fishing giveaway again!! Every child that comes by and trick-o-treats at our house will be entered in to win a free spoonbill trip with me this winter!! I'll draw out 3 kids and they can bring one parent with them for this trip!! Stop by our house ON Halloween! We will start at 5pm and end around 10pm tonight!!!! What an AWESOME morning (cold 🥶) but the fishing was HOTTTT! I wasn't sure what this big coldfront was going to do the fish but drove a lot of fish back down the river and off the flats into the main channel!! We fished deep and found TONS of groups spoonbill just about everywhere we went! It took us awhile to get the reels dialed in on how much line to let out but once we found them magic numbers it didn't take long to fill the sandwich box up!! I has out these great guys on thier first ever spoonbill trip and they did GREAT!! Thank you guys for an AWESOME morning of spoonbill CATCHING!! I look forward to having you guys back onboard!!
I'll be off the water until Monday. We are redesigning my enclosure the next few days and then I'll be back out with a group from Canada next week! Should be an awesome week! We stil have openings for November and from what I saw today the winter pattern is setting up now!! It should start getting really good again! Also we will be doing our yearly kids trip the week of Thanksgiving. I'll be making a post on that soon to get your kids signed up! Veteran’s Day is right around the corner which means it’s time to really get into planning our next Pritchard’s Guide Service Annual Warriors on the Water Fishing Event.

Cool fish today! It was banded and when I looked the band up it was from 2015! This made this fish pretty old for an Oklahoma spoonie! That makes him at least 13 or older by the size she was when she was banded!

Today I had out my good friend Donovan Sharp and his niece from Florida and his nephew from Colorado out. Neither one had ever seen a spoonie before so we set out to let them see one up close!! We kept pushing back our trip with all the heavy rain this morning but finally got a break around 1pm! The fish were definitely spreadout but we hit a big ole tagged sow and a big ole male! Thank you guys for a GREAT afternoon on the Big Pond!!
We still have a few openings left for October and then onto November!! The water temps are falling fast now and the fish are starting to really dump into the lake now!! Winter is my absolute favorite time of the year when they get out deep for winter and are typically bunched up good!! Get with Molly Beth Pritchard or I and we can get you out there!!
