🎉 BIG NEWS FOR ANDREW! 🎉

We are so excited to share that our drum instructor, Andrew, has been accepted into graduate school at Northern Illinois University ! 🥁🎓

While we’re incredibly sad to see him leave Pontones Music, we couldn’t be more proud of this next chapter in his musical journey. Andrew has made such a positive impact on our students, and we are grateful for the passion, encouragement, and talent he has shared with our music community over the years.

Please join us in congratulating him on this amazing accomplishment and wishing him the very best as he takes this exciting next step!

As Andrew begins this new adventure, we’re thrilled to welcome Nicole as our Wednesday drum instructor. Nicole is an outstanding teacher and musician, and she’s excited to meet and work with all of Andrew’s students. We know you’ll love learning with her!

A huge congratulations to Myles on returning from Capital Winds & Percussion Camp! We’re so proud of his dedication to growing as a clarinet player and continuing to sharpen his musical skills.

Meet Doug, one of our talented string instructors at Pontones Music! 🎻🎶 Doug teaches violin, viola, and cello and loves helping students discover their own musical voice.

How long have you been playing your instrument(s)?
20 years

What made you fall in love with music?
Finding different ways and styles to play my instrument and being able to share that experience with others.

What is one piece of advice you have for beginners?
Don't compare yourself to others, compare to the you of last week. Music is a personal journey and one that you can be on your whole life if you let it.

What would you tell your younger musician self?
Keep practicing, even when it's hard to. It's easy to put in time tomorrow, but making time today gives greater benefits.
