Here's a new song (almost final edit) from our band, RetroVolt, that opposes how several members of the US Congress (both political parties) "surprisingly" get richer while in office. Americans know what's actually going on. And America isn't alone. Other countries face similar corruption. It's common sense that this shouldn't happen.

The “Join, or Die” rattlesnake cartoon is a powerful symbol. Created by Benjamin Franklin in 1754, the cartoon has been adopted countless times for various reasons for more than two centuries. But overall, here’s the gist why it’s so revolutionary:

It depicts a rattlesnake cut into parts, mainly because there was a colonial myth that if you cut a snake apart, then joined it back together, the snake would come back to life.

This cartoon represents us as a world society. When we’re divided, divisive, and not working together, we can’t function properly and will eventually die. BUT, if we join back together, are cohesive and united, we can snap back to life.

What an apt reminder for today, as divisive politics, wars, business and personal decisions divide us. Let’s be united. That’s the real revolution, so be revolutionary. Join, or Die.

Garage rock and punk music is great. It’s all about making a statement with catchy tunes/riffs that also get your heart pumping. You can be artistic with your lyrics or just plain simple.

It’s simplicity is raw, yet the nuances of the songs can also make seasoned musicians raise a curious eyebrow.

Dang, we just love it.

Bassists are often the butt of band jokes and memes. And not gonna lie, the jabs are pretty freaking hilarious.

But here’s the thing: A bass player is really important for a band (or solo artist). They’re the heartbeat of the band (along with the drummer), adding depth, punch, and steady rhythm to pretty much every song. Even the bands with just a guitarist and drummer often have songs with rhythms that mimic bass parts.

So if you’re a bassist, enjoy the jokes and memes, soak em in, and know the reason they pick on you is because they actually like you. Bass is awesome.
