Out here savin' the birds 🥺💜

This sweet Mourning dove was found outside my work injured.

We're hoping it just needs a day or two to rest before it'll take flight again. 🙏💜

We've made an open enclosure for it outside with shade and water so it can rest and leave when it's ready. 🕊

Mourning doves are strictly protected. They are federally safeguarded under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA). It is highly illegal to hunt, capture, harm, or keep them as pets without specialized federal and state permits. Hence the reason we made an open outdoor enclosure for it.

We absolutely love that our products reach customers near and far, and we are always happy to ship to customers who love our work and want to support our small business. ❤️

However, to protect both our customers and our business, we do ask for a valid photo ID that matches the payment and shipping information before completing certain transactions.

Why do we do this?

✅ To prevent stolen credit card fraud
✅ To verify the buyer's identity
✅ To reduce shipping scams and chargebacks
✅ To help ensure products are delivered to the rightful purchaser
✅ To protect honest customers and our small business

Unfortunately, online scams targeting small businesses have become increasingly common. While most customers are genuine, taking a few extra verification steps helps us continue serving our community safely and confidently.

Below is an example we received a few months ago of someone wanting us to deliver an art piece to their door. Imagine how terrifying this would be for not only me, but the family living here had I not taken proper precautions and arrived to this address. 🤯

A heartfelt donation from a dear friend of ours. This one hit us right in the feels. 💔🩶

Meet the Virginia Opossum: North America’s one and only marsupial! Unlike most mammals, opossum moms carry their tiny babies in a pouch. And while they may look a little quirky, these misunderstood little night shift workers are absolute heroes for the environment.

🌙 Nature’s cleanup crew
Virginia opossums are gentle, non-aggressive scavengers that help keep ecosystems healthy by snacking on ticks, insects, rodents, and even snakes. One opossum can eat thousands of ticks in a season. They're basically tiny pest-control professionals with built-in pouches.

🐍 Surprisingly tough
These little survivors also have an impressive resistance to snake venom and rarely carry rabies thanks to their naturally low body temperature.

And most importantly:
🍼 Always check the pouch!

If you ever find an injured or deceased opossum, there may still be babies safely tucked inside needing help.
Cute, resilient, and incredibly important. These little guys deserve more love than they get. 🩶
