🏡 THE FARMSTAND IS MOVING TO THE PORCH THIS WEEK! 🩷

A little change of scenery, but still plenty of homemade goodness! This week we’re turning the porch into a fully shoppable, self-serve Farmstand so you can stop by Friday–Sunday 9am until sunset and shop at your own pace. ☀️

And as always, preordering is the best way to make sure you get your favorites!

One of my favorite things about having a family business is that my kids don’t just get to watch me build it… they get to build it with me. 🤍

Yesterday, they were helping me pick out letters for a new Grits, Grace & Granola sign… after ours fell apart last weekend in the midst of a storm- I also love that it shows them how to improvise, adapt, and overcome in real time when challenges come.

It might look like a tiny thing, but these are the moments I hoped for when I dreamed about building a business around our family.

They’re learning that businesses don’t just magically appear. Someone has to dream it, create it, problem-solve it, make the decisions, do the work—and sometimes stand in the middle of the driveway surrounded by a tons letters trying to figure out which ones actually fit. 😂

And this is one of the reasons I love homeschooling and look forward to learning alongside them.

Learning doesn’t always have to happen at a desk.

Sometimes math is counting letters.
Sometimes reading is figuring out what a sign says.
Sometimes business is learning how to serve people.
Sometimes art is designing something for the Farmstand.
Sometimes character is learning to work together when everyone has a different idea.

And sometimes the lesson is simply getting to see Mom try something, mess it up, try again, and keep going.

I don’t want my kids to grow up thinking that work is something that takes their parents away from them.

I want them to know what it looks like to build something together.

To create.
To serve.
To work hard.
To welcome people.
To use the gifts God gave us.

And hopefully, someday, they’ll look back at these little moments and realize they weren’t just helping Mom make a sign.

They were helping build the story. 🤍
