Here at Boundless Books we celebrate inclusion, diverse voices, and representation of marginalized populations. We push back on censorship and stand for freedom of speech and intellectual freedom. We foster a safe space for readers to explore literature and find affirming stories that help to validate personal identities and belonging. We provide a space for building friendships and a sense of community out of a shared love of reading and everything books can provide for us.
The LGBTQ+ community has helped shaped literature through the pioneering of new genres and challenging societal norms of gender and sexuality. Q***r authors have transformed Western and global storytelling through poetry, drama, and fiction. Historically, q***r literature often defaulted to tales of trauma, alienation, or tragic endings. Today, authors are redefining the narrative space by normalizing joyful, triumphant, and varied life experiences.
This month, I encourage you to engage with some LGBTQ+ literature. We have many books on the shelves by LGBTQ+ authors and featuring LGBTQ+ character and themes.
