To all my Family, Friends and Business Associates. It's getting very close to the time to jump ship from Facebook. So, I'm thinking we all need a backup plan before they delete us for not having the views they like. If you haven’t noticed, they are updating their Terms of Service…they WILL be deleting a lot of us!
Facebook: Effective October 1, 2020, section 3.2 of our Terms of Service will be updated to include “We also can remove or restrict access to your content, services or information if we determine that doing so is reasonably necessary to voice or mitigate adverse legal or regulatory impacts to Facebook”
There are two good choices available so far. Neither have all of the features, bells & whistles Facebook has, but at least so far, they aren't censoring anyone. I’m thinking we should all have profiles on these two social sites/apps and bring our friends over before we lose touch with everyone. This way, it’ll be very easy to just pick up where we left off. We can even dump Facebook’s other entities (Instagram & WhatsApp) as well as Twitter, since they all delete pro-conservative & anti-liberal posts.
They only want one view on these social sites & apps, the Globalist View being carried out by the Liberal Extremist Socialist Communist Left. If they cut off all of our communication with each other, we won’t have a say in anything.
I will write a little about the two other social media platforms, then I’ll comment with links to my profile on each so you can easily friend me there.
First one to check out is MeWe. I joined back in September 2018. They have come a long way since. They have Groups, Pages & Events and also have a Chat feature. Still have a lot of work ahead of them to become a feature rich as Facebook, but they’re doing a great job so far. They say ‘No Ads. No Spyware. No BS’. But if you would like more features, they do have an upgrade for $4.99 per month for Unlimited Voice & Video Calling, Journals, 100GB of Cloud Storage and Unlimited Themes, Stickers & Emojis. I know none of us are used to paying for any of this on a social media site, but it may be well worth it to not be at their mercy. If I see a lot of friends joining MeWe, I’ll have no problem paying the $4.99 each month for peace of mind. The developers need to get paid somehow and you won’t be bombarded, annoyed & distracted by ads.
The other is Parler, which I joined in June 2019. This is far from the feature rich Facebook. It has a hint of Facebook, a hint of Twitter. I’d think this would be more of a Twitter replacement. You have a limited Profile, Messaging, Following, Tags, Post Images & Videos, Seven Color Themes and Verification to prove it’s you, if you like. You can block unverified people, cutting down on spam. It seems a ton of people have signed ups for Parler in the past few months, giving it much more credibility. Parler, you just have to get used to their terminology. Echo is the Share or Repost. Vote is a way of giving a post a Thumbs Up, but there are no Thumbs Down, Hearts, or any other choices. Share is to send the post to somewhere outside Parler, like Text, Email, etc. I haven't seen any ads on Parler, but no paid version either.
I strongly suggest you all sign up for both as backup plans for when Facebook blocks us all. I have been in Facebook Jail way too many times. It definitely hurts business and events I plan. I want something more reliable and doesn’t censor me.
