Thrilled to be featured at the Center for Visual Arts again! Their annual Holiday Invitational is open for a couple of more weeks!
Art that doubles as a tray or wall hanging from Debbie Dion Hayes and all the leather jewelry you'll ever need by Stephanie Ponder, all at the CVA's 4th Annual Holiday Invitational.
Debbie Dion Hayes graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a BA in Fine Art, majoring in painting. Since then, I have always worked as a full-time artist in graphic arts, decorative painting, and website design and I have worked in Europe and Morocco. My website is DebbieDionHayesCreative.com.
Since I work as a full-time artist, mostly with paint brands and entrepreneurs, I have little time to create for myself. So, I dabble with paint, textures, metals, and glass. My favorite medium at the moment is reverse-painted glass, also known as verre รฉglamisรฉ.
I am a Greensboro native and love calling North Carolina home. I am married to my best friend and we are raising three incredible kids together. I started making my own jewelry 15 years ago, which led to friends purchasing my creations, to then selling in local boutiques, participating in art shows, monthly markets, selling online and hosting an annual, handmade art show in my home.
Iโve been an artist my whole life, thanks to my grandparents, who poured their knowledge of woodworking and oil painting into me from a very young age. While I didnโt pursue either of those talents, art and creativity and making things with my hands was woven into me at a very young age. I love reusing materials in a new way and I love taking inspiration from things to create something beautiful that feels organic, familiar and life-giving.
