Re-opening in August 2015, ST is the first resale store operated by UNCG students through UNCG classes that sells gently used clothing donated by students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. Products have includes housewares, clothing, accessories and artwork but the possibilities are endless. The Spartan Trader provides students and the community at UNCG the chance to give back to thei
r community by way of donating used items. It also give customers the chance to find great deals on items they need, at a price they can afford. Built around experiential learning, ST provides students the opportunity to work and learn in this entrepreneurial environment through a variety of UNCG classes. Much like residencies and internships, the Spartan Trader bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. The cross-disciplinary structure of UNCG’s Entrepreneurship program allows students from a variety of schools across campus to implement ideas at all levels of the store from marketing strategies to 5-year plans. Classes involved in the store include Entrepreneurship, Consumer Apparel, Creativity and Vision, Hospitality and Tourism, Web Development, Art and more. The Spartan Trader is also built around sustainability and locally sourced materials. We encourage and provide information to help all of our consignees develop more sustainable products using locally sourced materials. ST seeks to continuously improve on these themes year after year through constant education and support of resources on campus. The Spartan Trader is operated through the Entrepreneurship Cross Disciplinary Programs Office in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNCG. The Spartan Trader is also proudly supported by The Coleman Foundation.
