This week’s trip was much different than last week. We started at 5 am but only had one Kokanee in the boat by 6:30 am. The Kokanee bite never really seemed to “turn on” but was slow and steady throughout the day. Our colors and setups that were hot last week were going unnoticed this week. We had very few bites on pink setups. The cutthroats were feeding very aggressively, which added to the challenge of tracking down the Kokanee. We continued to change setups until we began catching Kokanee, but none of the setups seemed to be continually hot. Instead, we caught one or two Kokanee on a variety of presentations and colors. The results were still very rewarding as we boated 9 very nice Kokanee throughout the morning and lost of couple of others right at the boat. The biggest was over 21” and just under 4 pounds, along with several other kokes in the 3 lb. We caught Kokanee between 20-50’ deep, with again, no particular depth seeming to be the ideal range for catching.
