For my necks, I want to get the most out of the material I have. The heel will be built up, and the headstock will be joined to the rest of the neck. This is the least wasteful method of neck construction.

Dry fitting spruce top. Again, using board and baton method to clamp. The shop stays relatively cool, so I used a heat lamp to warm up the wood to give myself more working time with hide glue.

After cracking and scorching a couple of practice sides with a bending machine from LMI. I opted to try the old school merhod and bend by hand. This was surprisingly much faster, easier, and more satisfying, plus no breaks or burns on the first try! I would encourage anyone getting into acoustic instrument building to go this route for sure. $60 heater triumphs over the $300 machine.
