Young turkey crew & their chicka sissies moved to the ol’ turkey coop yesterday. Today, after clearing open the outside door, they have access to the overgrown wild of the run 🙂
Happy flock 💕

Oaks loves his hose shower, especially since there’s no afternoon rain to knock down this FL heat 🔥
Then a little watermelon treat from garden to share for him and current girlfriend M**s 🍉💞

Big thank you to Roosters General Store for the boxes of spent veggies. All the pigs received squash treats this morning. Instead of produce heading to landfill, it’s being enjoyed by herd and ending up back into farm soil as natural fertilizer🌽🍅🌻

A bit of propagating…shout out for Egyptian Walking Onions 💚
My Dad shared these with me years ago from his Arkansas garden, they’ve moved with us many times. “Walking” because in Spring bulblets (small clusters of bulbs) form on the top of a stalk from each onion. As they grow they fall over. If they touch soil they form a new set of onions. You’ll never have to run to the grocery for green onions again.
Since most my mature onions are in pots (or edge of raised beds), many bulblets were hanging. Yesterday I cut all the bulblet seed stalks and planted them in six pack cells. Hope to share once they take root 🙂
Also got around to making some refrigerator pickles, yum 😋

🫢can’t decide, Capt Buttler eating boiled eggs, is he:
a) Predator without the mask
b) vampire bat
c) just a country pig enjoying his eggs
